Didn't Alfred Hitchcock explore that theme?

I was driving down a back road in Ohio trying to find something and came out into a clearing with a dozen vultures each perched on a fence post looking at me. Not the best omen.

Sparrows had a tendency to go to our school lunch area in the open, then hippety hop into a glass area, where they'd get stuck because they couldn't figure out glass. I took the time to chase some out, and caught one in my hands, because it was tired. I walked out to the grass, so it didn't immediately get lost under the lunch tables again, and opened my hand to let it go. It just sat there in my hand unmoving. I guessed it was tired. I had to go, so I gave it a little lift, and the bird took off.

It really is a magical feeling to hold something completely wild in your hand and have it not run away.

Originally west coast birds but about 70-80 years ago, someone took some east and set them loose. They have now spread across the Midwest but still have 500 miles to go to close the gap.

They're shocking to see when they flock. We're used to the big birds of prey being mostly solitary, possibly with a mate at a distance. But big fluffy buzzards have no problem getting close to each other.

You can actually see the female goose huddled up to the ground in the last part of the video. Silly place to put a nest!

Strangest thing I found in history is that guano was once so valuable the US seized uninhabited islands that were covered in guano, just to collect it. Because countries never give land up, we still hold these islands, even now there is no value to them.

Hey, all I can say is Hill was lucky there wasn't a ballot in my living room when I saw this. I'm not made of wood, people. And I trust finches over a whole lot of people.

Putin is already asking his mercenary paramilitary force to round up Siberian tigers they can train to like him. He's hoping to overcome his failed project of teaching a bear to tolerate a saddle so it can be ridden.
