Workers and Laborers = Human Capital Stock. Also, I do not use Amazon because of Bezos' anti-worker policies. i wish everyone reading (writing) Wonkette would do the same.
Yes but if a married couple both work a minimum wage job, they at least can have almost the same standard of living as one person working a minimum wage job in the 1950's
Long time union member. I knew it would be uphill. Not only is it hard to organize a union shop anywhere, it is especially difficult in Alabama where many of those Amazon workers are already thinking they hit the jackpot by making over the minimum wage
I have been to the Ludlow Monument. Anyone who can go there and not have their blood run cold is not really human IMNSHO. (And, no, before I went, I did not grasp the true horror of what happened there. But now I do.)
While it is certainly slimy and anti-labor, "The Offer" to quit right then for money wasn't aimed at union busting. Amazon does it across (at least) the US at least once a year, largely as a way to avoid paying unemployment for layoffs.
It's also a horrible trap, since it includes never being able to work for any Amazon company again, and Amazon keeps buying other companies. I knew a guy who took it years ago, was a manager at Whole Foods when they were acquired by Amazon, and was immediately fired.
I really like Beau, and we generally agree on many topics... except guns. 😕
Did they at least get a “no pee bottles” concession out of Amazon?
The Pinkertons are still around.

Ask if Ford Motor Company has any spare machine guns.

This is disheartening.

backs away very slowly
Why is the Orgasmatron always on back order?

I am drinking one to Phil right now.

Yeah. Shipping container in the Southwestern summer heat. I'm going with "no".
