That really should be an average of at least two guns per person, shouldn't it? I do not get America's gun culture at all. Unless you are a hunter or in military service then why do you even need a gun? If you keep them locked up as you are supposed to then they aren't even much use in a home invasion. After the Dunblane massacre in the UK we tightened the hell out of gun control. Everyone thought it was a good idea and guess how many gun homicides there are? 50 to 60 annually.Still too many but compared to the USA... Yeah.
I went through a stage a few years ago that I read everything I could get my hands on about Hitler and WW2. Hubby and I watched a movie about the Nuremberg trials, they asked a psychiatrist who was there during the trials what made people act like the Nazis. he said "total lack of empathy". Hubby said "hmmm, just like the republicans".
You live in an area where the average Police response time is 41 mins. A meth lab moves next door. 13 tats everywhere.
You set out steel silhouettes... way out there. Every couple days, you ring them like wind chimes. Your rifle's report pegs it as a magnum... the time between those reports and the ringing tells the world you are good for many hundreds of yards.
They finish cooking their S, and move on... without once coming near your property line.
