My housemate was finally able to get a couple days off to get the vaccine. He had COVID back in October, and was concerned that he needed extra time off for the first dose.

To all resisting, take the vaccine and shove it up your ass

We should try messages proven to work with these fuckheads:"The liberal media doesn't want you to get the vaccine.""Hillary never wears a mask in public.""I read on Facebook that getting the vaccine will give you a bigger dick.""Obama isn't vaccinated.""The government wants you to not wear a mask, so their facial recognition software can track who is buying fertilizer at the feed store."

Those numbers will continue to improve. Until now, there's been a whole lot of oppositional-defiant playacting going on. With vaccine mandates popping up all over the private sector and a new, improved, basically uncontrollable Pandemic that kills only the unvaxxed, play time is over, and only the true crazies will risk both their livelihoods and their lives.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of them. That 15% hardcore holdout figure from this poll jibes with my own estimate. And I figure a million of them will be dead by this time next year.

The unvaccinated are now becoming a minority, which should worry them because they’re the ones who know EXACTLY how well Americans treat minorities.

Which is exactly why we should remind them that they’re walking disease vectors, and hence gross, filthy, and disgusting…assholes.

Ew. Ick. *barf* Lysistrata.

OT, but in the category of "things that refuse to go away": Amy McGrath

So I was in a bookstore* this afternoon and I saw a stack of FighterPilotChristianMom Amy McGrath's autobiography, I'm a Christian Mom Who Used to be a Fighter Pilot**. Also, too, there's going to be a booksigning there on Thursday night. I cannot confirm or deny whether each book will come with a $100 bill from the big pile that's left over from her horrible Senate campaign*** I thought to myself: "Uh oh, self! Is she back? Is she still a FighterPilotChristianMom?"

Then, on the way home I heard her on NPR****

Dear FSM, won't this woman go away! Please don't let her run again, she's HORRIBLE!

* Don't judge me, it's in the same plaza as Total Wine and More** Approximate title*** Which was the sequel to her horrible Congressional campaign**** I only heard the intro, then popped Rain Dogs into the 8-track player, where it will play over and over until the heat death of the universe. It is the way!

When was the last time McConnell lost an election for elected office, at any level, in Kentucky?

Kentucky been electing this guy to the Senate, since 1986 and I don’t know what lower level offices prior to that.

Kentucky likes him better than any Democrat he’s run against for at least 40 years.

Edit: Moscow Mitch having to tie up money for his own re-election campaign probably kept some money from going into GA.

Fun fact, while Kentucky is a very Red state we have a Democratic Governor. So it is possible for a Democrat to win a state-wide election.

Before her Senate campaign McGrath lost a race to Andy Barr (not an incumbent) in a relatively blue district that includes Lexington KY.

Lots and lots of Democratic money from out of state went into McGrath's Senate campaign that could/should probably have been spent elsewhere

If Charles Booker had popped up on the radar a little earlier he would have had a way better chance of unseating McConnell. Let's hope he can make rand Paul a full-time neighbor-botherer in the near future.

I think faux news would love to move on from this tiresome anti-vaxxer shtick and return to their normal panic about brown hordes moving to Wisconsin lake houses, but the beast they created is no longer under their control

My husband, Mister Binky, started feeling sick on Thursday. He thought it was allergies; we're both vaxxed, wear masks everyfuckingwhere, and remain socially distanced. He got swabbed yesterday, but I knew he was + before the phone rang this morning because he smelled absolutely wrong and his sweat was very sticky when he was sleeping. He's normally cooled off when he sweats, and never, ever smells. I'm coughing worse than ever( I have pulmonary sarcoidosis), have a headache, and a blistery rash on my hand. I'm holding out hope I'm - but won't be surprised if I'm +.

Either way, I'm under lockdown, so once again I'll be missing the wonkmeet at Chicano Park. I have a gift for the Wonkgirls & if someone could do a porch pickup I'd really, REALLY, appreciate it.

The adjective I’m rather enjoying is filthy. There’s something kind of wonderful about calling Republicans filthy disease vectors.
