More regulation, but you get a free kitten. Now that the NRA annual meeting has left Dallas and the news, and its festival of happy gun-humpers have all gone home to coo over the adorable 4-year-old who so enthusiastically played with a bolt-action rifle in a video, we bring you some thoughts on guns from the junior US senator from Massachusetts, Ed "Yes I've Met Elizabeth Warren" Markey. He'd like to remind America that rolling over and doing whatever the NRA wants isn't the only approach to gun laws:
I know rite. Why do they find it so hard to grasp that libtards own gun(s) and know how to use them? Does it mean they have their bubble burst if they acknowledge this
"It's easier to get a routine medical procedure than it is to buy something to kill people! And they have taxes to ensure that their citizens are healthy, educated, productive, and innovative! STRIKE THEM DOWN!"
Sigh. If Massachusetts had better public transportation ... who am I kidding? I love NYC. And no, Sarah Palin must never feel vindicated, for any reason.
I suppose you have to start somewhere, but in any civilized society the onus should be 100% on would-be owners to prove why they need a gun in the first place and why they are safe to own one.
On Rachel Maddow last night, he said Stormy Daniels paid him a "de minimis" amount when he first took her case, and the only other money he's been paid so far has been from her case's page on CrowdJustice. I'm not sure if it's possible to quantify the benefits of all the free press and media coverage he's been getting.
You guys know I moved to Massachusetts a little over a year ago. The people here are insane drivers!!! True story: We live in a rural area, and the road we drive everyday is posted 40mph. It's also a double yellow lined road for the entire length. OK..so I was driving home - doing the speed limit - when a car came flying up on my ass at an extreme rate of speed. They stayed on my bumper and tailgated for a couple of miles, and then flew around me on a blind curve and THE DOUBLE YELLOW LINE! The driver then slammed on her brakes when she had passed just to show me how pissed she was that I was only going the speed limit...now the fun part? The sign on the back of her car read "Karen's School of Driving" !!!!11!!!1!!1 I was so fucking pissed I caught up to the bitch and took a picture of the license plate with my phone. This is the woman who's teaching the kids how to drive. No wonder Massachusetts natives call themselves MassHoles.
We do have a bit of a reputation for being a little boisterous on the roadways....but we generally don't worry about being mauled by an automatic weapon over coffee at the local diner. Alas, it's a trade-off I'm quite comfortable with.
it sure is!

we're pretty fucken polite, too

Wicked Due Process is going on the band name list.
Almost O/T, but broadly relevant to MA dialect, and quite funny:

That is so great. Just a human being, after all.

Love the driving school story though. Classic!
