That's his brother Paul-- Paul Ryan.

It must be a horrible place! It used to seem so olympian. Although I do know Barack O. was a popular man who never worried about exams or went to study groups and was weird because of hanging around with all kinds of people. He never seemed worried about a thing. I heard all this from a person who was in his year who told my friend. So it mustn't be all Ted Cruz' and creepy guys who're planning what they can twist and 'dispense with' and say they never heard before.

As I've noted before, Tom the Wanker is not stupid so much as a stone-hearted jackalope with sugar daddies. He thinks because the Kochs picked him to play on their team back in 2014, he's all that and a bag of chips. He uses tactical stupidity as a dog-whistle. He sees himself as a big-picture kinda guy, and ya gotta break some eggs in pursuit of omelets. Never mind that the eggs have families, and hopes, and dreams of their own. Tom the Wanker practices relative absolutism.

Cotton, you ain't stupid (Harvard Law etc.) so we can only assume that you are evil. Kinda like your colleague Ted Cruz.

Twitter can't "censor" or "police" because Twitter is not a governmental entity. "Censoring" and "policing" are things that governments do. In fact, when you, as a member of Congress, attack Twitter, it's you who are doing the censoring and the policing.

I think that in her opinion, it's an important part of Black history, as it reveals what whites thought about Black people over time. I think that she also thinks she's both bearing witness and saying a "fuck you" to people who try to deny that this stuff ever existed.

Tom Cotton displays for us all once again, the Trumpian understanding of the 1st Amendment, or rather, THEIR version of the 1st amendment.

Also, I guess the more of it she owns, the less of it white racists can get their hands on.

Had to look up the origin of "slapdick." Turns out a couple of NFL coaches were quite fond of the term, no doubt where Charlie picked it up. It just reaffirms my admiration for Charlie and his penchant for arcane & obscure language and hysterical historical anecdotes.

I really wish he'd write another book. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

The sections describing Winston's work in the Ministry of Truth also reflect Orwell's own experiences working for the wartime BBC. Big Brother stuff wasn't just something that was happening in other countries.

Politico continues to earn Charlie's sobriquet "Tiger Beat on the Potomac" pretty much every day, IMHO.

I remember when being a US senator use to mean something. The impeachment ‘trial’ proved the current R senators have not one ounce of integrity or backbone or real patriotism.
