Is that a jurisdictional matter, tho? I enjoy those YouTube vids of Sovereign Citizens mangling the law to suit their own purposes. They always, always, always ask for the cops’ names and badge numbers, and to speak to a supervisor. In doing my research about them, somewhere I came across the statement that police officers are NOT required to give out that info. Looks like I’ll need to do more research!

Plus, voted to remove Trump. When it's all over he can be proud of how he served.

Thank you. I need to see proof more often that not everybody in the South is insane.

I hear ya. I'm here now, but most of my lifetime was in Massachusetts--LIGHT-YEARS away!

Good point, Himself says when he's out in certain stores, etc., cashiers and others automatically treat him like he's "one of them." Makes Him sick.

I live in SC, a deeply red state. It helped me to become active with the local Democratic Party and to volunteer with a political campaign. There are so many people dedicated to fighting for what is right even in the reddest areas.

If you're in a blue part of the US, consider going to a red state as a volunteer in the weeks before the November 3rd election. It will change your view of the red states and do some real good. We had some truly great volunteers from NYC and Boston during the primaries here.

First of all, as violent as things have become, the vast majority of the recent protests have been PEACEFUL. The motivation FOR these protests is the preservation of black lives, and by and large the people marching have done so peacefully, looking out for one another and demonstrating to racist cops, racist elected officials, and racist civilians what demonstrating RESPECT to other human beings looks like.

Those protests weren't "guaranteed to turn into riots". That is an unfair generalization.

It is also pretty shitty to preemptively accuse parents of child abuse/neglect because they accompanied their parents to protests. Neither I nor any other decent parent is going to take a child to a DANGEROUS event, and I resent the implication.

Jones for AG. Biden for pres. Kamala Harris for VP. Or whatever. I'll go with anything they come up with. (But my heart is still with Warren.)

The south has many good people fighting the good fight. It's even harder because of the insanity so please cut us some slack.

I never used the words 'abuse' or 'neglect.' Please don't put them in my mouth.

I work in risk mitigation. When I hear about risky situations I try to mitigate them.

And for 'safe' situations, there sure are a lot of people getting hurt.

However, I am sorry if my words sounded like you were a bad parent. That is hardly what I meant.

Funny how the real heroes rarely look or sound or act like comic book characters.

I really, really hope the tide is high enough to carry Mr. Jones back into the senate for another term. There's always a certain skepticism about red state Democratic politicians -another state's Republican (looking at you Joe Manchin, ya dick) ?- but he really does seem to be a genuinely decent, morally right person. Not just "good enough, coming from Alabama" but good enough to be a senator anywhere.
