Back when we were traveling through Africa in the early 80's we took chloroquine weekly as a prophylaxis against malaria, but ran out of it in Zaire and couldn't find any to buy. A couple of weeks before we ran out my wife actually stopped taking it because she was getting the weirdest dreams, a well known side effect, but more importantly she began to lose her vision right in the center of her eye. So she stopped taking it.
A couple of weeks later I got malaria in Uganda and they gave me a handful of Chloroquine at the hospital and burned the malaria out of me. I was pretty wiped out, don't remember much at all, but for malaria it works. So yeah, you could have something to lose.
I had one of those I bought at a garage sale when I was a kid! You plugged it in the wall then inserted one of the glass tubes and ran it down your arm and got a cool shock accompanied by a weird ozone smell. It was the hit of the neighborhood. My mom probably threw it out at some point, but it was really fun.
This is, unfortunately very true. As someone on the other side of the Atlantic, it's appalling to see the US accelerating towards disaster.i have many friends and relatives in US. None of them can explain the collective insanity. It does seem that Obama's Presidency awoke some really horrific threads running through American life.l
