As a female, we're surround by sexism and misogyny from birth to the point that if we don't suppress/ignore it as much as possible, it will bury us and suck us into madness. And that is not an exaggeration.
I was fired from a job for not sleeping with my boss. Of course he invented an incident that never happened to fire me, and when told HR basically told me my version of events didn't matter because it was with one of the largest employers on the planet, and they have an army of attorneys to the point no one will take the case for someone fired from a $30k job, since there's nothing to go after.
- There is still a large portion of the population that resents the fact we have the right to vote.- There is still a large portion of the population that resents they cannot legally own us and treat us like property, even though they still try, and many succeed.- There is still a large portion of the population that blames the female for anything bad that happens to her.... like your post.- There is still a large portion of the population who don't think women are capable of critical thought to the point they should have a man around to supervise their life, and every decision, especially about their health care.- There is still a large portion of the population that don't trust unmarried, independent women enough to allow them to do anything unsupervised.- There is still a large portion of the population that think feminism is bad.- There is still a large portion of the population that sees nothing wrong with, "Run like a girl" or that women still do not get equal pay.
I refuse to condemn these women who finally feel not only safe (not getting fired) in coming out and openly accusing their harassers, but that they also won't be laughed at and ignored into oblivion for mentioning that someone is abusing/bullying/sexually harassing them.
