Even when people had to work from dawn to dusk to just avoid starvation, they had time for hate. Pogroms and witch-hunting aren't exclusive to the modern world and never needed leisure or the internet to flourish.

I like to remind them that the King James Version is beautiful English but a turd of a translation, and ask them, if they think the Bible is the inerrant word of god, why don't they learn to read Hebrew and New Testament Greek to find out what it really says? Lazy sods.

No. This is a basic error. It is all too easy to explain.

"If I was wrong, then I just killed my child. I am a good person and I would not kill my child. Therefore I was not wrong."

Garnish with whatever "facts" you can pull out of your anterior orifice.

Quit shooting the messengers. When good Christians were burning Jews alive in the Middle Ages, accusing them of spreading the Black Plague, they didn't need the internet to get themselves organized.

I am so sorry, for you and your friend, Rebecca. There is so much loss here. The physical loss of a beloved family member, the possibility that your friend will never speak to her father again, the break up of an entire family. Because two people who should know better couldn't give up their "freedumb" by wearing a mask in public in order to save themselves or somebody they allegedly loved.

we have a VERY severely retarded daughter who has had both her shots. She isn't stupid, she wears a mask pretty well.

It's all about you, isn't it? You're "the only one who said anything." It's all about you.

Seconded - so sorry for your loss. I don't think the whole mask wearing is as big of a deal over here in the UK - I work in retail and pretty much everyone is fine about wearing a mask,we haven't had any tantrums at least. I've had my second vax so has my mum. It made me pretty sick, but I'm in the minority and I'm still glad that I had it. You can trust your immune system all you want, but if it can't handle a new virus then it's not much use.

It really isn't an argument if neither side hears the other side. It's just people making noises at each other.

This is heartbreaking. Please tell Heather I'm sending love & comfort. And if there is anything concrete we can do, let us know.

Heather is not alone. Many of us have to deal with the same situation involving brainwashed relatives. Sending her a hug!

My Dad's the same, he is 90 in a nursing home with the TV tuned to Fox News 24 hours a day, he is not the same person by a mile. I am just waiting for this version of him to die so I can remember the wonderful human being that he was, once upon a time.
