In France, poor and marginalized kids who are suffering as Macron dismantles public education on behalf of rich scumbags and the Catholic Church (Whoops! Redundacy!) are willing and able to tear their country apart.

Meanwhile, bougie American libs deal with a fascist by waving a sign for a couple of hours before heading off to celebrate their "victory" at The Cheesecake Factory.

Color me unimpressed.

I love the sign on the dog: "No Kings except me!"

The wine's all drunk and so am I

Here with the hoi-poloi, don't ask me why

We're celebrating, anticipating end of the year

Everybody come, everybody here

Well more or less, some already in a mess

I guess they're waiting for the big one

I went to the No Kings rally here in Dallas.

There was actually a magat there. Red shirt (Trump 2024) Red hat.

I smiled at him, and he smiled back at me. Then I told him I was surprised to see his pedophile hat. 'I haven't seen one of those pedophile hats in a long time! They're pretty rare.'

Then he stopped smiling.....

I'm surprised he wasn't angry for a few moments.

So, I'm at one of the Friday Embarcadero nights that Crypto hosts.

I used to have a job, and I was feeling flush.

Fukui was there, because he was one of the locals.

When he went away to the restroom, and nobody else was looking, I sidled up to our server and handed her two Benjamins. I said that this was to help pay for our evening. She told me that $200 was not going to cover it. I indicated that I did not mean to pay it off, but that I was just defraying some of the cost.

A bit later, as we were finishing up, and I had just come back from a smoke, Fukui has the bill in front of him, and his wallet out, and he's sneering at me and flipping me off.

And it didn't work. Shucky darn.

Apparently she was holed up in the Ambassador's residence facing eviction and screaming at her remaining staff as being leakers to the press and watching her downfall on muted TV in a home lined with self-portraits.

Hmmmm, I can think of a few others I'd like to share that fate.

I'm pretty sure they're scrambling to get on the right side of history.

Elon Musk on Monday pledged to give one share of his company SpaceX to โ€œevery kid in Americaโ€ next year.

Well, those Trump accounts for every kid in America aren't just going to tank themselves!

I wonder if this offer includes kids in America that aren't the right shade of color?

Always Be Ithacating's avatar

I think that's about $145 per kid (if it is all-inclusive), or two fill-ups for the family car. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/19/elon-musk-spacex-shares-giveaway-kids.html

DATELINE -- CHICAGO, OCTOBER 19, 2026 -- It is a beautiful October morning in Chicago. The sun is shining in a cloudless sky, and the winds are still.

Today is the first day of early voting for this fall's elections. All precinct polling locations are open.

I walked the few blocks to my polling location and deposited my completed mail-in ballot in the secure drop box. I arrived about 15 minutes after the polls opened. There were about a dozen people in line already, preparing to cast their ballots.

Iโ€™m worried that the parade will end up like the one in Dr Zhivago, with Cossacks riding down the peaceful protest.

โ€œWhere are the lads who stood with me, when history was made? Ooramachree, I long to see, the boys of the old brigade.โ€ Borrowing IRA songs.

Maybe fewer songs from people who killed innocent civilians more than a few times.

LOL. I was just thinking that. The accuracy is uncanny!

We didn't understand why the last two No Kings around us got weird. Meet in someone's house? Next one - go stand on a bridge and then go door to door? So we stopped playing.
