He'd still get pulled over within ten miles of crossing into Ohio that included a wait for the drug sniffing dogs to come out. Single guy in a pickup with Texas plates. Drugs.
I got pulled over by an Ohio state trooper coming back from a class at Kent State University in the early seventies for a busted taillight when I was doing my student teaching. It was right after my birthday, and he also pointed out that I'd failed to renew my driver's license. He let me off with a warning.
Oh, and I was smoking a joint when those lights filled up my back window.
Are we really surprised at this? Every message tells people that might makes right, that a gun makes right. As horrible as this is, it was bound to happen, sooner or later. People will only put up with being terrorized for so long before they start fighting back. So they do to others what has been done unto them.
