Still employed. The past few days (months) there have been rumors a-flying that today or tomorrow, SCOTUS Justice Anthony Kennedy, AKA "THE SWING VOTE," might maybe announce his retirement. WHOA IF TRUE, because that would be bad , you guys. It was one thing for the Republicans to steal Merrick Garland's seat and give it to frightening wingnut Neil Gorsuch, because that just put a really scary conservative guy in the chair of another scary conservative guy, Antonin Scalia, who got pillowed to death by his own face.
Because banning immigration, or not, is considered foreign policy and thus fully within the purview of the President. Congress has little say over such matters. But deciding the rights granted to immigrants once they're here is a different thing, I believe.

at this point my husband and i are taking it as a given that the economy will collapse and trying to decide if we should invest in stocks or property.... we don't have debt or anything so I'm not looking for sympathy - just pointing out that things are pretty ugly when you spend your days not wondering if things will collapse but rather which will recover more quickly.

I'd like to think Metal culture has grown up, but in my opinion, it's only gotten worse. It's why I've scaled waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back on it and listen to other old bands ... Genesis, Pink Floyd, The Police, The Who, Bad Company, etc., but there are still some I listen to frequently. I don't want to even be seen trying to prop up their misogyny any more.
This was long ago...more than 30 years, and my friend moved on and is now a happily married lady. This is how bad it SUCKED to be a female musician in the late '70's.
