Seriously—the quote is about how bad it is to assume you’re so smart and knowledgeable that you know better than anyone. Carroll County, Maryland, voted in 3 loonatic school boarders. The other offering was 3 teachers union clones. But the vote was closer than the usual 60-40 red-blue split. But even the previous board had sued the state to try to avoid mask orders.
The outright Christo-fascist *and* the candidate who was smart enough to try and sound as generic as possible but was endorsed by the Christo-fascist both got fuckin’ stomped in my little county school board election. We’re one of those weird rural counties that’s heavily Democratic, so not entirely unexpected, but still VERY satisfying.
