For all of you people who are wondering if maybe the College Board should back off for the sake of the students, even if Florida is clearly in the wrong here, let me just remind y'all that according to Florida it's fine to read about and discuss anti-social personality disorder, which includes a tendency toward bullying and acts of violence up to and including serial murder. According to Florida it's also fine to read about and discuss severe depression which may find expression in the inability to stop thinking about how you must be sick and wrong and a great idea would be to plunge a knife into your wrist and bleed out mercifully.

What you cannot read about is that gay people exist, bullies regularly attack them and make them feel horrible about themselves until they cannot escape the thoughts that they are the bad ones and ultimately stick a knife in their wrists, thus bleeding out not so much mercifully as tragically because they'll never get the message that their lives are better than the unspeakable shame Florida seeks to create.

I cannot imagine the pain it would create to take AP psych and have enough logic in your brain to realize that Florida thinks it's fine and dandy to talk about bullies and serial killers, but your crush on that shaved-head cutie is too depraved to mention.

Independent study on the paranoid psychological fixations of homophobes will also be banned, despite the obvious crying need for further study.
