As much as I like their products I have to disagree, they can and should be required to pay more taxes than they currently do.

This of course applies to ALOT of corporations and incorporated persons, Apple only getting singled out because of their relatively insane profits over last decade.

Meh. Guess who pays more for their iThings if Apple "pays" income tax? Corporate taxes should be zero, since we pay them anyhow. Then the IRS can spend all their time shaking down the likes of Mitt Romney Inc., LLP, Ltd.

The main thing about owning a patent is that you can value it a bazillion dollars, and depreciate it to zero over 20 years. His tithes to the LDS Church are likewise a percentage of "income". I'd say he had a couple of reasons to hide his tax returns.

Well DOH -- you do have to raise personal income taxes to compensate. But prices drop, so we more or less come out even. Apple could then spend their bazillions on US plants and facilities; GE could put its 1,000 tax accountants to more productive use, and all US businesses would be more competitive vs. overseas competition.

Teabagger assholes would never let it happen, of course, because taxes.
