As much as I like their products I have to disagree, they can and should be required to pay more taxes than they currently do.

This of course applies to ALOT of corporations and incorporated persons, Apple only getting singled out because of their relatively insane profits over last decade.

Meh. Guess who pays more for their iThings if Apple "pays" income tax? Corporate taxes should be zero, since we pay them anyhow. Then the IRS can spend all their time shaking down the likes of Mitt Romney Inc., LLP, Ltd.

The main thing about owning a patent is that you can value it a bazillion dollars, and depreciate it to zero over 20 years. That, and the fact that you can pay "royalties" to your own patent-owning subsidiary overseas. <a href="https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Double_Irish_arrangement" target="_blank">" rel="nofollow noopener" title="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Irish_arrang...">https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

His tithes to the LDS Church are likewise a percentage of "income". I'd say he had a couple of reasons to hide his tax returns.

Hmmm... roads, healthy non-starving populace, functioning courtrooms, actual jobs ... or less-expensive high tech glowy-screen Newt-ticklers?

EASY CHOICE

Well DOH -- you do have to raise personal income taxes to compensate. But prices drop, so we more or less come out even. Apple could then spend their bazillions on US plants and facilities; GE could put its 1,000 tax accountants to more productive use, and all US businesses would be more competitive vs. overseas competition.

Teabagger assholes would never let it happen, of course, because taxes.

Wait, wait, wait... everybody simmer down.

Turns out this SNAFU was all due to a misunderstanding.

It seems that Apple Maps was reporting that Cupertino, California was in the Caymans...

/re-fixed - you were right the first time. Underpaid workers are not locked into the building. Nor do they usually have suicide nets outside their windows...

when? You say this like it hasn't been happening since the days of the Apple IIc.

No...he just got egg on his face. Easy mistake.

Fuck, Kris. You took my first three ideas for comments right out of my mouth with that last paragraph.

Leave some crumbs for us little folk!

Like a good wine, a quality comment takes time to mature. :)
