Arizona does not play especially well with the federal government. There's soon-to-be-former Gov. Jan Brewer's strange insistence that her office's duties included yelling at the president, of course, and there's Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's belief that county sheriffs are supposed to enforce immigration law, even if it means ignoring less sexy crimes. Oh, wait, for Arpaio, that meant
We're not in the business of determining sincerity around here (who are we kidding; it's safe to assume all religious "beliefs" about law are bullshit.)
If you want to know what this is really about, peel back the wingnut facade of "we hate Obummer". That's just the pretext they used to rile up the rubes. The real battle is over fossil fuel rights, especially coal mines, along with uranium mining rights. This whole charade was driven by dark money wanting to negate federal interference to their raping and pillaging the state for its resources. See also: the flood of dark money from ALEC and the Koch brothers into an otherwise obscure race for corporation commission, where the two pro fossil fuel industry republicans beat the Dem solar power team. Yes, in AZ we actually voted against the pro solar power people in favor of oil and coal. People here really are that stupid. Also too, our governor elect will have us pining for the salad days of Jan Brewer once he gets into office and starts fucking things up.
Arizona's feelings about the Constitution are a lot like the old expression:
"If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, rip it apart. If it litigates then I guess you'll have to keep it "
not true- there was a civil war battle fought at Picacho Peak
Apparently, everyone involved got lost and wandered into Arizona
Why spend a million enforcing a law, when you can spend two million fighting it? (Before gettng you ass handed to you in court, and then having to enforce the law.)
Um, hey, Arizona? When a person is a complete fucking idiot, his "deeply held beliefs" really should not count for much. Just sayin'.

Pesky federal laws ....
Hey, if all those confederate states get statehood, so do we...
they just love pissing away our scant tax dollars to trial lawyers- stupid fucks...
Not to be nit-picky, but I think that part of Monument Valley is actually in Utah.

Hey!
AZ is too crazy. NM does not want more crazy.

Has anyboby ever added up what that jackass Arpaio has cost the taxpayers? He's kept more lawyers fully employed than asbestos.
