A long time ago two JW's (really sweet looking older ladies) came to my door. They handed me a pamphlet and in shocked, whispery voices said "do you know that some people worship THE GODDESS?!". I said, "yeah, I'm in favor of it - I know some Wiccans, awesome religion".Not another word, they scurried away. The pamphlet was basically female-bashing.
I save the literature from the Mormons and the JWs. Then the next time they come around (can take a couple of years), I dust it off and hand each one the opposing cult's literature. They don't even want to touch it. One dropped it and wouldn't pick it up. Neither has been back in at least 5 years (hallelooyer!)
No problem! It really is an excruciating experience and they understand how socially inappropriate the door knocking is, but they are constantly pushed to do it anyway and told that they are “blood guilty” (meaning responsible for killing) if they don’t. They actually have to report how many hours they spend preaching every month, and it’s never enough so even when they do it they’re made to feel guilty for not doing it more. It’s a really abusive practice, in addition to being terribly annoying or even harassing to anyone who they get to come to the door.
Do what I do: report every single person you see carrying a gun in public.Sure, they may have a concealed carry permit, or not even need one in your state.But as far as I'm concerned, everyone carrying a gun in public is a potential mass shooter.I'm not going to take that chance.
I guess we don't have to worry about these tactics in my state. My fine Republican majority legislators passed a stand your ground law here. What's that you say? They're only going into minority neighborhoods? That's smart since SYG doesn't cover POC.

My HS sweetie has become a JW. She's always had a huge heart, and they reached out to her after an almost unimaginable tragedy, so she signed up.

They're too smart for that. These jokers are only pulling their shit in minority neighborhoods where those things don't apply to the residents.
I suppose, if they're taking pics of your house, you have the right to take pics of their cars. Especially the license plate.
