My BIL worked as a civilian contractor on an AFB. The area he worked in only allowed him to carry a beeper in case of family emergencies. No personal cell phones, laptops, or tablets were allowed in the work area.

Cheeto is actually quite competent when it comes to malevolence. Case in point, when he passed on corporate transportation and leased a very special helicopter for three of his casino execs who were about to testify on his alleged Atlantic City money-laundering. Said rental suffered an unfortunate series of events which left it, and its human cargo, in pieces in the middle of a NJ highway. Too bad, so sad, said Cheeto and, as an aficionado of stolen valor, added that he was ‘this close’ to having been on board. Turns out he can be a highly effective manager whenever his ass is on the line...

The judge who simply did his job and signed the warrant is now a member of the “when will my life ever return to normal?” club for people who Trump directs his deranged followers at. Trump is a malignant stain on our ability to live in peace. If he runs again in 24, I predict he loses by more than 10 million votes. America will sound the alarm after what happened on 1/6 and pretty much every other day since 2016. He is an existential threat.

In this version of events, Trump didn't want to hand over whatever it was that he was hanging onto, for fear it would fall into the hands of the January 6 Select Committee. If this is supposed to make Trump look less guilty of mishandling classified documents in violation of the Espionage Act by saying he was only attempting to obstruct Congress and perhaps destroy evidence of criminality, well ... you're doing great, sweetie!

I mean, all Donald Trump's "legal" "arguments" come down to "I think following that law will not end with me getting what I want and I'm Donald Trump so I don't have to follow it."

At this point I'm surprised that no one's tried the "The folks at the National Archives didn't say, 'pretty please, with sugar on top,'" excuse, yet.

former president attesting that all material with classified markings had been returned. Hence, the "raid." They were unclassified when tRump wagged his magical peener at them and transubstantiated them from secret to routine.

He always was an existential threat and he probably could still win against a candidate who is not a white male.

Sigh.

It's also what he allegedly told Chris Christie about the money that was supposed to go for the transition team in 2016. That it was his money and it wasn't gonna be wasted on the transition.
