Trick question! There has never been a Cheech Marin movie with a plot!

"Impossibly star crossed." This story awakened something in me I haven't felt for a long time. Thanks.

Well put. But you sum it up with "The problem is the ultra-rich stealing all the money, all the jobs, and all the housing, and buying Congressmen".

I would argue that your complaint also explains global warming, a problem which many scientists foolish believes derive from the physics of greenhouse gas emissions. Those are secondary to your political assessment.

I would run away from home, but I am old, and do not have the energy to start another garden. Or learn another language. I mean, who speaks British after all?

If it suddenly becomes more attractive, it might be hard to get a passport (if only because so many people are clogging the process), and having one at hand might be very useful.

Unless they decide that pasty whites are a more serious problem than regular browns, who are needed after all for their nanny and landscaping skills. Pasty whites with a history of disloyal* posting could be added to a long list of names for sudden, rapid, cleanup.

* Disloyal to Dear Leader, of course.

Years ago, the police and the Border Patrol began patrolling downtown El Paso together, figuring the cops could stop someone jaywalking and then BP could sweep right in and capture the supposed undocumented immigrant. I was stopped and detained by a police officer downtown for half an hour because I couldn't prove I was a US citizen. My Texas driver's license, Texas plates, birth in Detroit, perfect native English, nothing made him happy. I was plenty intimidated, especially when he said he was going to put me in immigration detention if I couldn't prove I was US. Finally, after a half hour of increasing harassment, he let me go with a warning that I needed to carry proof of US citizenship on me at all times. The closer you are to the actual border, the fewer constitutional rights you have. At the border, you have none. I was about five blocks from the border.

I finally got my passport for my first international trip just last year. It's got a stamp in it now and everything (YAY!), but I don't carry it around with me.
