Interesting how death threats make Repubs resign, while Dems just get on with their job.

I thought Repubs were all brave, macho men? I mean, why doesn't this guy just guy himself a few more guns. Everyone knows that would keep him and his family safe. (Everyone except statistics.)

Wouldn't Rosendale have access to more and better security as a congressman than a private citizen?

I'm a day late and a dollar short, but this piece of shit is my congressman and I can confirm he is a piece of shit.

He's not in my state but lots of people™ are saying he's a piece of shit. Big, strong men with tears in their eyes are coming up to me and saying Rosendale is a piece of shit. They don't even ask, they just do it. Foreign countries are saying they no longer respect America because Rosendale is a piece of shit. And moms in their kitchen baking home made cookies for snacks for their home schooled kids are saying Rosendale is a piece of shit. So it must be true!

“It’s really ridiculous that the only people who seemed to be showing some restraint are the people who would normally be jumping on these rumors like catnip, and that’s the press,” Belke said.-

Truer words were never spoken! The press ought to treat this like buttery mails but won’t because republican.

The call is almost definitely coming from inside the house on this one. Someone from the PAB camp ... or looking to get into the PAB camp started it.

Doesn't mean it's not true, though. Of course he would send the aide to a blue state for an abortion, so no proof.

'good old-fashioned egg-on-his-face sex farce'

Movies like that used to be made. Mr Rosendale, however, doesn't seem like a leading man. More like the congressman from Godfather 2.

I listened to the Talking Feds episode where Heidi dropped the bomb. The other participants were speechless but she reiterated what she said. I think it’s more than just having impregnated his staffer. I think she may have had an abortion and that’s why he’s freaking out.

Of course she did. They are nothing if not hypocrites.

So by traditional repubelican rules, it was not the original impregnation of the (likely unwilling) staffer that was the scandal. That was simply the exercise of masculine power over a weaker vessel of pleasure. The scandal was psying for the disimpregnation by the sinful process of abortion, thus restoring some autonomy to the swiven staffer. That was a scandalous affront to patriarchy.

I just wanted to make that clear.

Yeah, just ridiculous that journalists do have standards and integrity and won’t jump on salacious rumors without some sound basis. We certainly still have some platforms that refuse to become The National Inquirer, or every right wing rag.

Trump’s “fake news” campaign caused incomprehensible damage to our democracy and everyday trust in people and institutions, and it still enrages me. Of course a serial liar and crook desperately wanted a way around the endless negative press he knew he would get, and “fake news” was his ticket.

With past presidents, such as Nixon, the role of the press was extraordinary and vital. Two 20-something reporters with only a couple years experience between them brought down a corrupt president. Today, Trump would simply brush off any such bombshell evidence as simply “fake.” We don’t have nearly the spotlight we once had to shine the light of truth into the dark corners of American politics, and our democracy is far weaker because of it.

Americans are too busy trying to identify who among them is one of them or one of us to insist on the truth from whoever they elect as potus or member of congress. Now we have heckling during the SOTU, and the GOP openly admitting impeachment is merely an exercise in political theater. I’m not sure where America is headed, but unless we protect voting rights, a free and robust press and reign in misinformation, we are doomed to resemble nations that once had democracy and gradually lost it.

journalists do have standards and integrity and won’t jump on salacious rumors without some sound basis unless it is about one of the Clintons and then there is nothing so low, unlikely, and vile that they will not repeat it.

Nothing.

Agree. I get pretty tired of the weak MAGA comebacks about Bill Clinton. “Trump is a serial adulterer who assaults women? What about Bill Clinton?” Even if Clinton was similar in the sleaze category as Trump, and there is evidence that makes that claim at least debatable, it obviously doesn’t minimize how wrong it is to empower a man like Trump. And that’s before we compare the two men in any other category. Bill Clinton is a highly intelligent man and was an effective politician and potus. Trump is an incompetent buffoon with no reliable judgement or useful experience. The two men simply aren’t comparable in any way that matters, except we can agree neither man should engage in adultery, abuse women or be a misogynist. HRC was easily as smart, was never accused of sexual misconduct and would have been an incredible groundbreaking potus. Trump is a destructive monster, and his tragic term was all the more tragic because of who he denied the presidency. I can’t wait for Biden to beat Trump by 10 million votes.

I agree.

Also -

Trump has been found guilty of rape in a civil court of law.

Clinton has been found guilty of being a chronic hound dog.

Agreed. Clinton clearly abused his power while potus with young Lewinsky. Much of her adult life has been defined by it. And she’s written and spoken about how Clinton left her out to dry and failed to do the right thing and protect her. He was potus, the most powerful man in the world. He should have apologized profusely and taken 100% responsibility for crossing the line with her. She was a 20-something young woman receiving flirtations from the President of the United States. He should have known she’d be attacked and mocked mercilessly in the press and media and public. She was a punchline for years. Women have come forward and said that Clinton was aggressive and abusive. There’s no excuse for that. But Trump hurts people in so many different ways. He’s a malignant narcissist who believes his needs are the only things that matter. How someone so vile and destructive could rise to such power is a true sociological conundrum.

"He should have apologized profusely and taken 100% responsibility for crossing the line with her."

He did apologize profusely and repeatedly. On TV. And then again later. Google it. It is on YouTube. FFS. You are on the Internet. You could check instead of bloviating incorrectly.

"And she’s written and spoken about how Clinton left her out to dry and failed to do the right thing and protect her."

She has, in fact, never done anything else. In fact, she has never STFU.

OH TO FUCKING HELL WITH HER.

SHE should have grown the fuck up and apologized for coming to DC with the commitment to do nothing but fuck a married man. She should have apologized to HRC and even more so to Chelsea. She was a narcissistic useless rich girl who derailed so much with her head in her pants and grew up to be a narcissistic useless rich little bitch. Unlike WJC, she has never expressed a molecule of self-awareness nor apology.

"Women have come forward and said that Clinton was aggressive and abusive."

No one has been as investigated as the Clintons. This is partisan Tara Reade bullshit that came to light much much later. He is a hound dog, not a rapist.

She did not have to make her stupid bad choices her *entire life* but not doing so would have required a bit of brain and decency. I have never seen evidence of either.

Yeah, I hold her in contempt. She had a great job, was an idiot, and wanting to do nothing but OMG SUCK THE POTUS DICK. She is a toe rag.
