Demographic changes (minus voter repression, which is why considerable efforts in this direction are known happening both places) in GA and AZ are definitely in the direction of making those states swing states, much like has been happening in VA/NC (for GA) and NM/Nevada (for AZ).

Of course I like telling The Kids that up through Bill Clinton's second term, California was a swing state tending R in national elections (Clinton won our EVs in 92 by a plurality because of Perot's candidacy).

(Edit: I know you were talking about SC; I'm doing some general thinking out loud here. Not familiar enough with SC demographics to comment much.)

I learned to say "the unpleasantness between the states" or, for the amusement of my NC friends, "the wa-uh of nawr-thin aggression" before I visited the Carolinas. I know how it turned out though.

MYSTERY SOLVED!A group of billionaire Democrats have gotten together and made Donald Trump an offer he couldn't refuse: "Here's a billion dollars to throw the election, so that Hillary wins."

Naturally, Trump accepted the offer, but to everyone's dismay, no matter how crazy he acted, it wasn't working, so about two weeks ago the 'investors' gave him an ultimatum: "Either go completely nuts and take the entire Republican party down with you, or give the billion back to us."

Well, you can see by his actions which option he chose... and trust me: I'm the author of a popular 20-book series of mysteries, and I believe I've actually solved this one.

"...because he has so many people at his rallies, and that is how you figure out who is winning in the Trumperverse."

Also, too, the much-adored statement "no one I know is voting for Clinton" is considered a quantified voter metric.
