The way these nutbags keep bringing up "gold-standard science", I'm beginning to think they're referring to medieval alchemy and trying to turn base metals into gold. They certainly can't be inferring to any real science-based standards.

Ta, Robyn. By now, just about everyone here knows I nearly died of measles/Reye's syndrome at the age of six. Had there been a vaccine back then, I would have gotten it. Instead, I got measles-Reye's syndrome, chicken pox, mumps, and rubella, all at the ages of six and seven. There's one good thing that came of all this. My sister and several friends got shingles, so I had my PCP test my titers. I believe she said any number over 645 means immunity to both chickenpox and shingles. My number is 1,111 so I didn't need Shingrix.

I had 'em all, too. Still got problems nearly 70 years later. Those high fevers wrecked my hearing, a sad state of affairs for a (now former) musician.

My sister and I were both given chickenpox at the same "party" our mother arranged. Decades later, we both got the Zostavax vaccine. When Shingrix came around, I figured it would be like wearing suspenders with a belt, couldn't hurt. She didn't. One of us got shingles. It wasn't me.

The Trump regime and all of his sycophantic buttmonkeys, including the very demented RFK Jr, are the worst people.

I really hope they all get what they so richly deserve.

This is exactly how petty authoritarianism works in practice. RFK pulls funding not because AAP's research was flawed, but because they wouldnt bend the knee and endorse his anti-vax crusade. The part about how AAPs recommendations actually cost pediatricians money to implement is what makes this whole thing so absurd—theyre not profiting off vaccines, theyre eating the cost to protect kids I worked at a clinic that almost dropped immunizations entirely because reimbursements didnt cover storage and labor costs. But sure, its all Big Pharma puppet strings. The cancel culture hypocrisy here is spectacular

Has Bobby Brainworm (h.t. to Jeff Tiedrich) been getting into dear leader's make up closet and started spackling his face with the shit brown/orange filler putty? The make up job is every bit as obnoxious as sleepy don's. What the fuck is wrong with these guys?

My grandma grew up in a tiny rural farming town in the 19teens. In her tiny high school class, she knew two siblings who were deaf from mumps. She became the Dir. of Admissions at a university teaching hospital in the 1950s, and recalled many of the staff being brought to tears the day they held their first polio vaccine clinic. I cannot believe we're this stupid. It truly breaks my brain.

The party of "family values" does it's best to destroy quality medical care for children. Because, after all, death is "natural."

You don’t see me canceling road kill scavenging, whale head joose guzzling, and bathing in boiled hot dog water just because those things aren’t my jam.

Great, now I have to fear that my HHS grant to study the sun deposition onto the secluded beaches of Baja is in jeopardy.
