Incidental rant, I watched the remake of Westside Story without seeing the original n al before or since, and thought it was very, VERY good . I also find the idea of Natalie Wood playing a Puerto Rican more mindboggling than casting her as a Russian, which also actually happened.

For me though, the truly tragic part of the whole movie was a bit more subtle. Hector says he always thought that at least he would see his daughter when she died. But, he knows that her death ends his last anchor there and he will never see her.
