To be fair, snakes and camels are fairly similar. After the snake swallows a camel.

Seriously superglueing gold coins to the mantle? How old is that mantle and how much is it going to cost to refinish it to original condition?

For fucks sake! What the fuck is this? We've got a complete dipshit regressing to a toddler and essentially fingerpainting the walls while there's a fucking war on, the economy's collapsing and there's masked thugs shooting people in the fucking street!

This is not fucking sustainable - something has to fucking change, right fucking now people!!!

That's my paraphrase of Obama's point

OMG! I should have fucking guessed that! This isn't a joke, right? Because I was just think that the folks at Cheesecake Factory must be loving all this free publicity!

“That was the interesting thing about how the administration responded to the speech I gave the other day,” Obama said. “They did not dispute what I said about them being directly responsible for rising prices. They did not argue with that. They did not deny tariffs were contributing to higher costs for families. They didn’t say anything about that. I accused this administration, based on the facts, that they were engaging in unprecedented levels of corruption. They didn’t say anything about that.”

“The president wasn’t even mad about the Saddam Hussein comparison. That part didn’t bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory comment,” Obama continued. “He took great umbrage. He said I didn’t understand the work of the artisans in the White House. ...They mobilized a whole-of-government response to that joke – not to inflation, but to that joke.”

“The guy who’s supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory.”

I would love to see the place they roll up to. "Cheesesteak Factory? Yeah, we meant to do this! Philly is a Republican stronghold!" as curious food workers walk in to work.

I ambush myself. Cases in point:

0. I gave up booze about a month ago, after a lifetime of regular consumption;

1. I just decided that cigarettes are too damn much trouble, cleaned out my ashtrays, and decided to dump that habit too. Gonna keep the weed around though.

2. It's like I catch myself by surprise. Two habits gone, like someone tripped a switch in my head, fucking inexplicable.

This has been your Marlon Report.

You were ready. Congrats. I quit cigarettes for the final time when I decided I just didn't want to smoke anymore. Did not *want*. Something just snapped. It's been over 20 years and I've not even had a craving or been tempted. Quitting finally took. The detox was godawful; I hope yours is easier.

Marlon Rando's avatar

That's what happened. I'm done with the habit, something snapped and that's all there is to it.

calliecallie, aka pollyanna's avatar

I am jealous. But also too not. I guess I will keep my bad habits a bit longer.

Why do I think of Death of a Salesman whenever I hear tfg talking?

Willy Loman indeed.

That little hitch in his voice before he said "For you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory" was the most emotion I think I've ever heard from him. Over a joke about a chain restaurant.

He was talking about ass again the other night and the crowd was dead silent.

i did handle my voting, and now i have my poll observer assignment, which is not where i expected but i am OK with it. as my county has been targeted by the federal voting-fuckers, we shall see what happens.

Ya know, Jen Rubin paid attention to the REST of Obama's speech in Ohio.

https://www.contrariannews.org/p/depravity-is-on-the-ballot

He called out the stark moral choice we're facing. We're not going to fix anything as long as we've got a culture where anything goes....where money is the only measure of a person's worth...

'Trump: "They have a lion, a bear, a snake, and a camel. They say, 'Which one is the snake?' That's question one ... it's a very highly respected test ... very hard."'

The colossal stupidity of this sad excuse for a man is breathtaking. He describes a simple, preliminary, screening test for dementia, which is so easy a normal 6-year would pass it, as "very hard".

Taking inspiration from Jeff Tiedrich, I'll offer $1000 to the first person who asks the Super Genius how he did on the clock-drawing section of the MoCA. He never mentions that.

Some say that Obama cracking on Donny 15 years ago, and Donny not being able to handle it is what got us here. I don't know if that's true, but I bet that for the last 15 years, the voice of Mrs. White from the movie Carrie has been ringing in Donny's ears, saying "They're all gonna laugh at you!" and that warms my black heart.

Thanks, Obama. No really. Thanks.

Every once in a while I look it up and watch Obama riff on the Orange Blivet.
