Maybe Obama was there to say, "Joe Biden, I love you so much, but don't run for president, please." That would be helpful!
Maybe Obama has also actually been very busy working on the gerrymandering problem with his old pal Eric Holder, which is the real root cause of how Democrats have been getting shellacked at the polls ever since 2010. This is absolutely crucial ahead of the 2022 redistricting!

Myself, both brothers, both sisters-in-law, and both SIL's families, are all firmly on the liberal side of the spectrum.
My mom is, sadly, very insular, and AFAIK has rarely expressed any political opinions.
And then there's my dad... He's an ultra-religious Hindu who blames Muslims for Gandhi being assassinated (by an ultra-religious Hindu, but "details" 🙄). He started full-fledged shouting at me at someone else's house over the fact that I'm against repealing the estate tax. While I wasn't there and so don't know exactly what was said, he managed to piss off my Nth-generation-descendent-of-Mexican-immigrants sis-in-law so much over immigration, that she hasn't spoken to him in over two years.
So, yeah. "Family" <sigh>
