Is Bari Weiss now Trump’s Kapos? How she can she use the term free press when she cancels Colbert’s Talirico segment? Talirico is a voice of reason and we have freedom of press. I call for a boycott of CBS News and Paramount

What A Debacle's avatar

I'm starting to think 60 Minutes is never going to air this CECOT segment.

OrdinaryJoe's avatar

Have I mentioned in the last 24 hours exactly how pathetic Bari Weiss is?

Jim Parker's avatar

Wait. What?!?!?!??? Bari Weiss has a wife???? You mean there is a person in the world with lower self-respect than Tony Dokoupil? And does the anti-DEI crowd at Fascist Clown HQ know of this? How can this be? Hopefully, Ms. Weiss' spouse will not be performing a disparaging tight 10 in front of any of the Goon Gestapo, er, uh, ICE agents.

David Sagneri's avatar

She is a creature of the wealthy and the wealthy have convinced themselves that they truly do know better and understand more than the simpletons with things like expertise, knowledge, and experience.

After all if they were anything more than dullards they would be wealthy or agree with the wealthy person. And of course there are always Bari's that exist to ensure the wealthy know that they really are the most special people. After all their ranks include the likes of Elon Musk and Peter Thiel.

Commenting here because I am so goddamned livid about everything else at the moment that I'm going to make myself sick and while this is infuriating and pathetic it's infuriating and pathetic in almost nostalgic way.

Ugh, BariUM ENEMA Weiss is a lesbian? We do NOT WANT HER (or her emetic wife.) Take her back!

If there weren't double standards they'd have no standards at all.

The Ford worker has been suspended for making a good point. Trump, who responded by swearing and giving the guy the finger, is keeping his job.

Funny, when Ford workers heckled Obama, there were no repercussions.

NatalyaResists's avatar

"TJ Sabula, a 40-year-old United Auto Workers Local 600 line worker at the factory, told The Post that he was the one shouting at Trump. He said he has been suspended from work pending an investigation." I hope he's suspended with pay, enjoys a few days off on Ford's time, and returns to work triumphant.

Investigation of what, exactly? Speaking the truth, I guess.

Glad I've never bought a Ford.

Bummer. Suspended "without pay."

If he's permanently fired he better get a life preserver before the flood of donations drown him.

I'm guessing there will be job offers, too.

Haha, "voiced concerns to the President". Sure, I guess you can say that yelling out that he's a pedophile enabler is a way of voicing concerns. Certainly having a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist and a possible pedophile in the highest office in the land is of concern to me.

Free beach's avatar

Of course nothing he said to McShitspants was incorrect. Hope the union gets him back pay

Also, not gonna help you Ford. He’s already said out loud what he thinks of auto manufacturers.

C&A Bongo Man's avatar

He already has a GoFundMe. As he says...

"I don't feel as though fate looks upon you often, and when it does, you better be ready to seize the opportunity. And today I think I did that."

Well dump is a pedo protector. That’s just a fact.

I dunno about "rich" but he might not have to worry about paying his bills for a couple of months.

Because then you should twizzle your wanger at your neighbors.

Okay. It’s early in the morning. And I recognize that a lot of folks are getting ready to do whatever they do.

But I found this 30+ minute video fascinating, although not encouraging. I have added the channel to those I will follow who are making good trouble.

I may have loudly disagreed to this if I was their age but: This decision is not theirs to make.

Diane's Less Hostile Username's avatar

Agreed. Part of being a child is having to turn over decisions to people with more wisdom and experience.

knockedoutloaded's avatar

yeah right, that never worked for me!

Nancy Naive's avatar

Take their phones. Give ‘em weed. You’ll still see a marked improvement on standardized tests.

MRK's avatar

I spend enough time waking kids up as it is.

Nancy Naive's avatar

Bags and bags of Cheetos.

MRK's avatar

I work with kids that age. A quarter to a half of what they're doing on their cell phones, in class, is texting their parents.

And I don't think a ban is the right solution in high school. It might be appropriate for younger kids, but the point of high school is to prepare students for life after school. Colleges and employers aren't going to keep bugging them about their phones, they're just going to fail or fire them if they can't figure out how to set it aside and get shit done. They need to learn how to start balancing this thing that will always be in their pockets and the rest of their lives. And I don't think a complete ban on phones helps them get there.

Again, a ban in elementary schools might make more sense, and might get students better prepared to figuring out that balance in their teens. But I'll listen to elementary school teachers on that question.

Diane's Less Hostile Username's avatar

Also, parents and adults need to support student by NOT FUCKING TEXTING THEM WHILE THEY ARE IN CLASS.

Stulexington's avatar

I mean I fully understand placing them aside during a test, but I honestly prefer to be able to contact my son when he's at school, or on his way home. And no, I don't trust him to remember to get his phone from the office every day.

Diane's Less Hostile Username's avatar

I am just curious, because I am VERY OPPOSED to parents contacting their children during the school day, what do you have to contact them about that cannot wait until lunch or after school? I get very, «In my day, we didn't have cellphones!" but I am will to hear parents out.

Stulexington's avatar

Mainly it's contacting him on the way home ... unless he's forgotten his lunch or needs to contact us for something. Especially now that he's taking the city bus too and from school.

Well, good! I slept MOST of last night through after waking up for a few minutes at about midnight when I ended up finishing an episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. I managed not to nap yesterday thereby creating the sleep deficiet I need to get through the night. There will be no nap today as I have lunch with friends at 11:30 in OKC and after that, I head down to Austin for a couple of days in the office. There will be no napping those days either. Hopefully by the time I get back Saturday I'll be back to sleeping nights through and done with my siesta phase (it was fun).

I enjoyed Mathra v. Godzilla very much last night. Great fight scenes. I happen to enjoy the guy-walking-around-in-a-big-suit era of these particular films. These's something about how the monsters' limited mobility that I love. It keeps them from being OVERLY powerful, one of my big complaints about the bad guys in superhero movies (not really a fan, personally). Tonight is another kaiju flix by Ishiro Honda, but not Godzilla.

Not looking forward to taking my tax money down to Vichy Texas. Oklahoma is ruby red, but it's not like THAT crazy place, especially Norman isn't. Austin likes to brag that it's a blue oasis, but "blue" is a relative term. Most dems in TX would be moderate MAGA GQP pieces of trash anywhere else, though I do think that social pressure is good for my boss as even she seems baffled by all that is happening.

Saturday night is the event celebrating drivers for the needle exchange. Looking forward to it. I hope lots of participants show up! I would really like to get to know some of them!

You're quite right about TexASSSSSSSSSSSSS. I unfortunately lived there at one time and your characterizations of Austin (destroyed by techbros beyond recognition now, alas) and Democrats in Texassss are exactly correct.
