Pennsylvania Republicans are throwing the mother of all shitfits because the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has whittled their electoral advantage down from 30 percent to a mere 10 percent in the state's Congressional delegation. In anything but a wave year, they will still take 10 out of 18 seats, while receiving about half the vote. But they are whiny-ass cheaters who shout NO FAIR when the game isn't wildly rigged in their favor, and so those small government, states' rights conservatives are headed back to court to preserve their right to steal elections in perpetuity.
Ah, yes...PA gerrymandering...Lady MS spent nearly 4 decades in Reading, and was represented by asst'd critters without even having to move or vote. That's how it works. Was tickled pink to read that the (R) who just inherited city of Reading is taking the gaspipe:)
Would a form of proportional representation be possible in each state? I really like the idea, but the last time the UK was polled on it, the vote went against. Fucking turkeys voting for xmas.
Tom Marino (R) was a DA, the G W Bush Administration wanted to investigate him for his help in obtaining a PA casino license for the Bufalino mob family via Louis DeNaples. Marino quit his DA job, the Feds stopped the investigation because he quit and Marino became an in house lawyer for the mob, before becoming a Republican Congressman.
Well. My 'time' shows as 88:34, but that's cuz I started it, had to go work, then came back. So I don't know how long it really took - that's just how long it took to FINISH.
alternative math? It's a mathematician joke. It was proved fairly recently that no map could exist that requires more than four colors. My wife, a math major at Brown, laughed out loud, and she's been subjected to 52 years of my painfully lame jokes.

“That’s probably what they meant by ‘secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity’”
The founders may not have meant gerrymandering, but THEIR posterity did seem to be a major focus.

The highest court in the land. Except when we say so.
The Teamsters had the right idea.

arcgis or qgis You have an interesting toolkit. Are you at USGS? I worked for years at Unisys on Sunrise Valley in Reston, just down the street.
Jeez, the BUILDING isn't there anymore.
Asking the Supreme Court to limit the power of the Judiciary? Sounds like a plan.
No more McLaren F1s? Fuck off, then.
Hypocrisy and Bible-thumping do seem to go hand-in-hand, don't they?
33 minutes, well spent, since I got pissed at the GOP all over again.
