For Ben Carson, it's Raptor Jesus or nothing In the continuing nationwide Derp Wave unleashed by the idiot who asked what Donald Trump will do about America's Muslim Problem, Ben Carson at least gave a more definite answer than Trump did. Pity that it was kind of evil. Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, Carson explained that a president's religion should be a
His viewpoint just needs parsing: The Constitution guarantees that a Muslim could RUN for President. And then Carson could, based on his views, NOT VOTE FOR HIM.
That's how America works, you half-baked fuckwaffle.
Not many voters identified with Richard Nixon's values. In fact, those values were never really examined in any of his three Presidential campaigns. Most people who voted for Nixon did so based on what they perceived as his broad competence in government and their expectations of his ability to negotiate successfully with other governments, especially with the one in Moscow and a certain one in SE Asia.
I can recall every Presidential election cycle from 1960 to the present. Values were rarely brought up in Presidential campaigns in the past. The exceptions were in 1972, 1976 and 1988 but even then they were much less personal and politicized than they are today. (Nixon never questioned McGovern's basic "Americanness" or loyalty, and Carter never portrayed Ford in Biblical terms as a representative of evil.*) The Lee Atwater-directed campaign of GHW Bush was quite vicious against Dukakis but even that was more about executive competence and decision-making than about what kind of human being the Democrat was. From what I recall, the kind of very personal and Biblically-infused values debate that we routinely have every four years now first arose in the 2000 campaign.

Kennedy did that in 1960 because the last time there was a Roman Catholic running for President on a major party ticket, the 1928 Hoover campaign used the phony issue of "papism" to destroy his Democratic opponent, Al Smith.
Excellent advice. Thanks.Interesting update. A few days later, my wife got on to see that cousin was apologizing for the whole thing, (seems that some of her best friends are Muslims), and FB warned her to watch herself. Apparently, FB has some rule about spreading hatred on FB. Who knew?
I'd say you have it backwards - Ben Carson's big selling point in the primary is he's as cuckoo bird as Ted Cruz and Louie Gohmert, but he fell behind Carlie Fiorina in the latest poll on account of his mild, inoffensive manner being eclipsed by her breathtaking mendacity.

That would be a copper-jacketed hollow point vote of your own design, I assume.
Probably also a comprehensive knowledge of neural anatomy and functioning too, no?
No Baha'i, though. Or devotees of Santeria.

So much for the sanctity of the Constitution they claim to revere so much..
That's why he's affectionately known as K-hole Carson.
Sometimes bland and high are difficult to distinguish from one another.
