If you think women are whores because of what they wear, at the gym or anywhere, you have the problem. Stop sexualising women who are just going about their day.
I keep thinking about the aphorism, derived from many different witticisms, "vulgarity is the last refuge of the inarticulate," and I honestly think we could replace it with "misogyny and racism are the last refuges of the unfunny comedian".
There are a million ways to riff on sex, relations between men and women, cultural eccentricities etc in comedy, without punching down. Those comedians who are possessed of intellect and ingenuity manage it just fine.
Others like Gillis and his ilk are just low-rent trolls whom everyone should stop booking, force them onto the casino circuits to pander to their real audiences.
One might use the word “whore” to describe a talented comedian who resorts to pandering, bottom-dwelling “jokes,” but I wouldn’t call Gillis “talented.” Or Shapiro, for that matter.
You mentioned Fox News & Fiends and I suddenly realized — Shane’s “joke” was indistinguishable from something that would dribble out of Greg Gutfield’s mouth.
Will Gutfield be the next SNL host?
Lorne, just retire already. You had a great run but now you’re just embarrassing yourself.
He's giving a free pass to his many many fans to call women whores and act accordingly. I swear he workshopped his whole monologue in front of his "good friends" Joe and Theo.
Women sometimes wear bikinis at the beach. There isn’t much difference between a bra and panties and a bikini, except maybe colors and fabric and context. It doesn’t make them “whores” or make it inappropriate or a reason for pasty, self-loathing men like Shane Gillis to be angry. Ladies, wear what you like. Whatever makes you feel good about yourself, feel comfortable while working out, or simply to show sad man-babies like Gillis what self-confident people look like.
And who is shocked the staff who voluntarily work with Ben Shapiro, ladies named “Savvy,” are judgmental jerks?
Finally, ooooo Jane Fonda. Love me some Jane Fonda, she of the defiant cuff-free fist.
Coming back to this, I'm also gonna refute the statement that "you can't look! because they're filming!"
You can look briefly, but the social expectation in the gym is that you give it a glance and then go back to whatever you are doing.
What you can't do is STARE at another person. You can't openly leer at someone. You're supposed to glance, shrug, and go back to staring at yourself if there's a mirror, or staring at the wall if there is not. Or staring at your spotter's stomach if you have one.
My gym banned filming if you're not actively on an exercise machine, but has full length mirrors in the locker rooms for both the men and women to practice their poses (since we're a competition gym for people who are doing bodybuilding shows and going to meets and stuff.) There are, in fact, pictures of some of the trainers at a show in speedos and bikinis.
Don’t let Ben see this! 🤯

I hadn't even heard of him before this.

Get therapy
Bad stand up comedians don't go for a laugh. They go for a reaction.

Yet another reason not to go to the gym.

I don't know much about this so-called 'Shane Gillis' character, but he sure seems like the Official Comic of the incels.

Let's stop and consider how badly Shapiro and his ilk would freak out about the veiled women I see at the university gym I work out at.
On a cheerier note, I'm inclined to think that many of the women I see at the gym could--and happily would--kick his whiney ass.

I imagine that a wool-based, full union suit would be considered acceptable. And they'd still be undressing women in their heads.
Remind me who TF Shane Gillis is again?
(that's ok. I don't know, and I don't care).
It’s great that Benji asked for the unbiased opinions of women who work for him.
I was just going to make that non comment. "Gee, do I want to piss off my boss and get fired or will I just say what he wants to hear?"
