I just don't understand why Bernie didn't run as a Green in the first place. He would have had a decent chance at publicity and a formal party structure to support his candidacy, and the party would have been considerably more supportive of his agenda. In refusing to join or run with a legitimate, lefty third party, he's only contributing to the "establishment" system he claims to hate.
If I were a Green, I'd feel insulted that he put his considerable visibility to work only in trying to dismantle the Democrats instead of build up a genuine alternative to them.
