Bernie Sanders, independent Soviet Socialist senator from Vermont, who has been Elizabeth Warren-ing since the actual Elizabeth Warren was lecturing Wall Street bankers IN HER DIAPERS, will announce his candidacy for the presidency, as a Democrat, on Thursday. Sanders appears to be running on a platform of "seriously, okay, Hillary, you're going to be president and that's fine, but could we possibly turn this god-dang ship to the left?" And that is a good thing!
Ignoring the fact that this article reads like it was written by someone in middle school: The hard push to keep him from appearing as a viable candidate is the real issue. You seem to accept the fact that only Clinton is a viable D candidate and if that is true then you're consigning to a corrupt democracy which is not a democracy.
Also too the abortion restrictions seem to be getting worse, or is the lamestream media not reporting on abortion festivals? Also too we are still up to our eyeballs in racism and the attendant poverty, injustice, etc etcAlso too we can't seem to cotton to the notion that there is money to be made in sustainable energy....Sigh...
Agreed. As I said upthread, I am grateful Bernie's running as a democrat. I like him, want to send him monies, but in no way shape or form would I do that if he had decided to Nader-ize the campaign. We need to push left, not hand the presidency to R-crazytown.
I agree with much of what you said, but Ralph Nader sealed it for me. If Corporatist "just like Bush" Gore had been elected there would have been no Iraq war, quite possibly no Afganistan war after 9/11. There would be no Scalia and Alito and Roberts (for life!) on the supreme court. The "Bush tax cuts" would not have been enacted. There is no way, no how,not ever that I can forget how close we came. We didn't know in 2000 what the stakes were, and we can't fully appreciate what the stakes on the supreme court and global "war on terror" are now. I'll send Bernie money an pray for a Warren VP, but I'll fucking campaign for fucking Hillary if it comes to it. No more "messages to the center left" that are not learned and result in far worse situations than voting the fucking dem in.
A smart 10 year old could construct better sentences.. I bet you call yourself a journalist in introduction too don't you?
Popularly he has a damn good chance and if he doesn't make it, we will see just how corrupt the system is.
The actual problem is that is the problem in the first place.

That's cute.

hahahahaha so funny! Governors doing photo ops at Catholic schools how we did the beat down on the pro-choicers! That is shit is hilarious!
Warren/Franken (although I love Bernie.)
Amen. My big fear was that he would run as a third party candidate. I am very very grateful to him.

Actually, this might work.
