Garland isn't corrupt, but he's an institutionalist who's programmed to seek more power for DOJ
Why can’t this be one of those happy robot stories where the automaton resists it’s evil programming and becomes a better robot that is dedicated to the betterment of humanity?
I don't see it this way at all. They put up the appeal so as not to appear partisan about the issue, and will gladly roll over and publish the entire memo when the appeal is overturned.
If we're going to talk peripherally about how people who look different are policed in this country, from the beat (literally and figuratively) all the way up to the official Justice Department -- which, as POTUS OHJB reminded us in his appointment speech for General Garland, was deliberately constructed with very specific ends in mind -- then this feels like the right place to put this
I’m not convinced that hiding that information, for fear of setting precedent, is the endgame Garland has in mind. Isn’t an appeal for this basically expected and sort of just walking through the motions? The administration has gone out of its way so far to appear nonpartisan and made efforts to protect future actions from backlash that could sabotage them. I hope it’s that. Garland has been doing alright so far.
The department said the decision before the attorney general was not whether to prosecute Trump since the indictment of a sitting president is precluded by longstanding Justice Department policy.
How longstanding? I don't think it been that long. In fact, did they come up with this just to keep TFG out of jail???
RELEASE THE MEMO!!!!
(I bet it's not just a list of partisan spam talking points this time!)

After four years of Trump I'm fine with norms being upheld
