Ta, Gary. We must keep Biden-Harris in office. The free world is depending on us. Turnout is going to be everything. We. must. VOTE.

At some point in one of these closed-door meetings, someone's going to turn to Biden and say, "So, our gravest secrets are now in the hands of Vladimir Putin, right?"

Awkward conversation to follow.

Not only is NATO younger than both candidates, but they were both old enough to have personal memories of its formation, if they were bright boys with an interest in the larger world. So, Biden, but probably not Trump, but not because Trump was too young.

The North Atlantic Treaty was signed in 1949. Theoretically, those talks also established NATO as the preferred means of implementing the treaty, but nothing was really done until the outbreak of the Korean War.

In 1951, Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers, Europe was established.and is the actual birth of NATO as a military organization. But it could not really be a credible fighting force and would only serve as a tripwire for nuclear retaliation until West Germany joined in 1955, bringing a domestic defending army and a prepared defensive battleground to the alliance, so that event can be considered the true "start" of NATO rather than what would otherwise be considered a piece of historical trivia. Joe Biden was 12, Donald Trump was 9.

Should The Convicted Felon be elected and should he threaten to leave NATO, I am sure many weapon manufacturers will remind him that NATO buys a lot of American weapons.

Mary Trump's broadcast today has a segment about this

U.S. voting people may not understand that even though we still have at least some checks & balances under the current system, UNLESS Orange Donald is put back in power by Democrats doing internecine fighting and being spineless in the face of Republican cheating, on *domestic* policy -- FOREIGN policy is the place where the POTUS can act almost unilaterally ... and Donald has been meeting with the Putins of the world trying to destroy democracy in the rest of the world and institute autocracy globally. People need to understand that as much of a clown as Donald is, they are not kidding about this.

Feels like I'm knockin' on Heaven's door”

So tired of the “Biden must leave crap” when Demented Donnie gets zero scorn.

Why not? Its not like anyone is making Hooper make them.

Although tbh, I have few doubts Hooper could make a damn good one.

So WaPo had some great drivel by Theissen in their opinion section about how ACKTUALLY Trump was the greatest thing to happen to NATO and deserves the credit Biden is getting and will TOTES Make NATO Great Again if he gets back in power. The maniac writing this piece concluded:

--we should close all our German bases and move them to Poland and the Baltics because Germany is a "freeloader" (sure, Trump's really going to move our bases closer to Pooty's land)

--Trump "made" those other nations up their military contributions

--how DARE we spend less than 5% of GDP on our military! In fact it needs to be over 6.5%! Who cares what that is in budget terms, tie it to GDP foreeeever!

--super-arm Ukraine to make Putin pull out because OBVIOUSLY that is what Trump meant by being able to "end the war tomorrow" (sure, Mark, sure)

--We should let South Korea, Japan, and Australia join NATO along with other Pacific allies to acknowledge The Russia-China-Iran-NKorea axis that is forming (I feel a WW3 comin')

Imagine being paid the big bucks when you’re that stupid. If I ever see this Theissen guy walking down the street, I’m going to trip him.

Doesn't NATO have a defense agreement of some sort? If so, there's a clear and present danger to the United States from a terrorist group calling itself the Grand Old Party. Someone should look into that.

Assuming there is no elevator, Melon wouldn't need locks if she'd move her bedroom to the second floor. Although, who am I kidding?- she probably wouldn't be caught dead in the same zip code as her husband these days.

It's going to be good news for media as they love their FUD! But I believe in Joe here.

Here's some drivel from a CNN "analysis" about what Joe has to do to survive the NATO summit. I think this guy may have taken over for Cilizza:

"Biden’s debacle created a new complication for US allies already formulating plans for a possibility that many of them dread — a Trump victory in November. The world leaders who will spend hours with Biden this week are therefore certain to make their own assessments of the president and his political hopes."

LuluBean12 StarGeezer's avatar

I can't figure out how so many have forgotten the drivel that Trump spouted at the debate.

There are a lot of the MSM lately in the competition to out Cilizza Cilizza

Buz 13's avatar

Yeah, I’m sure President Biden’s debate performance scares our NATO allies far worse than the handjobs Trump keeps giving Orban and Putin.

I read a story the other day from I think the Financial Times abut that time TFg said on the way to a NATO summit he was going to tell them he would withdraw from NATO if they didn’t pay up He scared even his staff. They had to go into closed session and let him bluster upshot seemed to be he thought he had threatened them into doing what they were going to do anyway. Must have been a gift link of some sort because I can’t find it now .

Nothing would make Putin cum harder than a NATO without the U.S.

My analysis of Trump motivations and actions always begins with the following facts:

1. Trump is petty

2. Trump cares only about himself

They snubbed him, personally, because he is a gross fraudster. The rest is Trump "punching back".

He also thinks every partnership is a zero-sum game, and he fancies himself a great negotiator who can always get more $$ out of a deal. Also has no qualms about a little light extortion. "Nice little country you got there, be a shame if something happened to it."
