Is this Hail of Bullets Barbie an actual real candidate for something? Like, on Earth 1.0?

I'd opt for hourly testing instead.

Friend of mine is a patient at an allergy practice in Dallas. The staff there have been all in on the "pfft, it's nothing, why mask or vaccinate" since the beginning. I told him to stop seeing the quacks as if they are medical professionals and can't figure out vaccines or masks then how in hell are they supposed to give legitimate medical treatment? He told me that the office manager said her husband is a doctor and he doesn't think masks work so they aren't wearing them.

I asked him how is it that surgeons wear masks while operating, as they aren't in danger of catching a blocked artery or the cancer but BECAUSE THEY DON"T WANT TO SPREAD GERMS. Basically said doctor is only concerned with getting something himself and could give a fuck about anyone else.

Fortunately, he called an hour ago and one doctor and a PA at the clinic now have COVID, and the PA "isn't doing very well". I told him I hope that he has plenty of ivermectin.

So there is a God.

It also gives cover to the people who are supposedly afraid to get the vaccine because what will the neighbors think. "well, y'know, gummint mandates suck but whaddayagonnado? uh, MAGA!"

Agreed, although one does hear from time to time about such cases. A very good friend of my Mother's lived to almost 100, and every six months a person would come out to their house and check. There are probably too many people these days for that, but I know SS does its best.

Watch her slip on that slope and foul the barrel of her gun.

I thought anyone getting Medicaid/Medicare $ needed to have 100% vaccination? He may be thinking he can scam it.

Good thinking. I vote yes.

> In fact, I am having a lot of trouble trying to come up with a single instance wherein it is the government's duty to "present the facts, then trust the people to make their own decisions."

Our ridiculous-that-it's-even-a-question stupid governor recall here in California right now?

edit: Brexit? Trump, for that matter? I mean, I guess that depends on your definition of "duty", I suppose you could argue none of those *should* have been able to happen, that what we're seeing is less democracy in action, more insane rules-lawyers who don't always have the will of the people, but *are* very good at rules-lawyering... Brexit, though, it's hard to see that as anything other than slightly over half their population being very stupid.

Did anyone ask him what OSHA stands for?

At this point, if it weren't for the fact that they're keeping me at home, and the fact that it's increasing the chances of further, worse mutations, I'd say F the whole of them, call it Darwin in action. It's hard to care about people who willingly allow themselves to be seriously injured or killed by an extremely safe, extremely preventable countermeasure!

edit: and them, on top of that, make it actively worse in the hope of making it better when they do get it, with horrible random chemicals taken in horribly unsafe amounts! Though I suppose if people are at home killing themselves with horse-strength deworming pills, at least they aren't out at clubs spreading covid?

At least once every day or two, you can spread a lot of covid going out to clubs maskless in a week if you're an idiot. Still better than nothing, hopefully it'll convince a lot of companies it's serious, and inconvenience enough people that they just say screw it, not worth the inconvenience.
