Ta, Dok. It's Ed 209.

Movies in the 80's were so vastly more bloody and violent than the last decade's cartoon superhero stuff. I was legit bothered by that Robocop clip as a kid (and a few other scenes from that movie). I guess it's good there's less of that now, but it sure did drain the life out of the PG-13 garbage today. Maybe some mild trauma is good in tiny doses? [insert 5000 word and movie clip thesis, decide I don't have a point, really.] Guns are bad.

Dok you need an assistant mod in the European time zone just let me know. I’m always here in the mornings when you lazy Stateside fuckers are asleep because it’s the “middle of the night.” And I’m retiring in a month, so since I know it will be a well-paying gig...

The *bing* of a tweet arriving to them must be like a backfire to someone back from Afghanistan. (And yes I’m allowed to make jokes about PTSD)

33/50 states have zero federal or state requirements for gun show background checks. 3 have checks for only hand guns while the rest require background checks for all guns. A gun show may opt to have background checks if they want to.

Ahem, I believe that would be “Trouser Trout”. Ain’t y’all got no alliteration? (And yes I get mock dumb hicks from AL since I am one.)

Why did they put live ammunition in the droid if it was just a demonstration using a live human?

They needed a bludgeon to show the "corporate culture" and how no one had any regard for the live human that just got .50-calibered to death.

Also, droid had no "Off Switch."

Biden said "you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want." The key word in that sentence is "can." It is 100% true that you "can" buy whatever you want at a gun show because many, if not most, of the sellers are not federally licensed dealers. Biden's statement would only have been false if he had said "you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want from any dealer."

What Biden wants is to change the "can" to "can't."

What I have always wondered is why they just don't change the rules at gun shows so that ONLY federally licensed dealers can sell guns there.

Dick prick cock wang pecker dickhead cocksucker motherfucker ... all of which are great, vivid words and excellent insults. But apparently women's sex organs are not ever to be used as an insult, because ... something that thinks it's feminism.

Bottom line: in the US, words for men’s junk are culturally funny. Words for women’s junk are insults, and/or misogynistic. So unless you think you are going to change the entire culture of the US parlance to suit what you think should be right, give it up. Some fights aren’t going to end the way you want them to. There are way more important things we can focus on.

I doubt Dok is offended, but Wonkette has bowed to people who are offended by the word, whether or not misogyny enters into it. Using That Word is automatically deemed to be misogynist, which is the sort of blind, blanket rule censorship loves to impose. Insults are graphic. When I call Mitch McConnell a cocksucker and a dickhead, I'm not being a man-hater. I mean, sucking cock is fine with me.

Personally, I'd like to see people put on pause when they refer to Lindsey Graham as female, as if being either female or closeted gay were somehow a degraded status. That one is right up there with prison rape jokes.

Oh well, maybe the fear of the Vaginaword will eventually dissipate. Until then, I'll have to use the Chaucerian version, quaint. https://medium.com/the-esta...
