Oh yes AP; Shitler’s hush money frauding and Hunter’s offenses are EXACTLY EQUIVALENT in terms of both severity and importance to the voting public.

Hey, if former President Trump's allies don't like him being called "Mr. Trump," how would they feel if he were referred to as "the prisoner?" Because if they keep ranting about the witnesses at his direction, that is what they will get.

I met my coworker's cats yesterday. Well, virtually. She has three and they are very cute. Two tabbies and a kinda calico. She has trained them to stand up and give high fives for treats.

It made my day really. I'm a massive sucker for cats.

One of my basic tenets for Zoom meetings is that they must include a healthy amount of cat butt. I have none, but everyone else's kittehs never seem to fail me.

Or is very, very smart. Tipper (The Cat Who Thinks He's A Dog) is actually very smart and has trained me well. I've been up all night and around 2:30am I had done something, I don't know, to piss him off and elicit a hiss and a nip. So as a Dog person with a Cat, He Showed Me.

Is it possible to see one's own history of comments on this Substack thing?

The closest is to go to activity, replies and mentions because that'll show you when people reply to you.

Substack is kinda shite.

Expand full comment

Kinda??????

Substack does not give much desire to comment here.

Substack also does not give me much desire to post pictures or memes either. Having to post those things through links is so, ummm, ummm WEAK, SAD, & LOW ENERGY.

:(

My top three things what done do piss me off about substack:

1) Block doesn't work

2) Text formatting like italics or bold - c'mon, engineers, that's a solved fucking problem

3) No inline images

GRRRRRRRR

It.was.easily doable on Disqus.

Repeat: GRRRRRRR

Expand full comment

yeah, but Disqus a: crashed every five minutes and b: cost Wonkette lots of monies

I know it is a bit of a sad losing a couple features, but if it keeps Wonkette going? I guess I can live without em.

Expand full comment

Hmmm,

IIRC there are ~ 4800 paid subscribers.

So if the subscriber average is $10 per month; then 10 X 12 X 4800 = $576,000.

Also IIRC the Disqus annual bill of ~ $45,000.

SEEMS like after subtracting the Disqus fee that there is still enough to pay the writers and make a decent personal wage.

Am I missing something here.

PS: Have to take a screeshot to accurately remember what I said. Without that there is no way on Substack for me to check to see if I wrote something stupid or not. AND if I can't do that it is not possible to apologize to anybody if necessary.

Hmmm...... Dr Who was first aired in the United States in 1972. By then that was the THIRD DOCTOR - Jon Pertwee (and a personal favourite). In my country it had been broadcast since 1965. I was lucky as it was a standard for the ABC and shown in the evenings - 6pm - which meant it was well after schooltime. As noted, even my attention span gave out by about the 7th Doctor as it has reached the limits of what you could do with aluminium foil and paper-mache costumes. I did like the original Master too, very wicked indeed.

I thought they started about 1979 and it was 4th Doctor (Tom Baker)? It was on PBS.

It was broadcast in Britain, not the US. It has always been a British thing. Which is why places like NZ turn up 'lost' copies of episodes that were sent out on videotape decades before.
