Even if Acosta misrepresented his (very central) role in getting Epstein off the hook during the confirmation hearings, the Miami Herald expose came out in Nov 2018. I can't imagine reading that and still being OK with Acosta remaining as Labor Secretary. And yet, not a single Republican who voted to approve his confirmation has called for his resignation.

The right for. men *for good families* to assault young women with impunity is practically part of the platform. It is not just "if he goes down, we go down" but it is an assault on what they have been raised to believe is part of their inalienable rights.
