Just got into this discussion recently. I work in social justice and a lady asked me what I was doing with my whiteness.
Years ago, I would have been heartbroken that the work I do isn’t seen by the people I want to empower.
Nowadays, I have a different response. I grin evilly and say, “It’s camouflage.”
Don’t hate your whiteness. Acknowledge its advantages and exploit the shit out of it. One day it won’t matter anymore, but until then make of it a shield and a sword, and go forth against the Zimmermans and Barrs of this world, knowing your odds of survival are much higher than their targets’. 👊
We must have zero tolerance for resisting police. Funny, all the videos of "resisting" (too many videos) that I've seen online include trying to ask the officer to justify his stopping/keeping/holding/attacking a "suspect", or people trying to defend themselves and protect themselves from physical assault. "Stop resisting while I twist your arm into a painful and unnatural position!"
Time to reclaim our local police from Federal ownership. No more DHS training in urban warfare. No more DEA 'shoot first' money.More 'protect and serve.'Local control, not Stasi.
In Monroe County New York (Rochester) an anti-annoyance law to protect police was just passed.
