TBH, once a crime gets into “Congressional investigative committee” world, it’s pretty much DoA. I’d love to be proven wrong…

HRC vs BoBo was Yale Law vs GED; or a "canned hunt" in other parlance.

I'm thinking Israel, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Italy, Germany, oh fuck it they ALL have the Epstein files and using them against him to get him to destroy the US.

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

Of course they do. America has absolutely no secrets on any level. Tulsi sends everything to Vlad, and Trump happily gives it up for anyone with a fat checkbook.

Bobert and Mace, what thirsty attention whores. They both challenge my core beliefs as a feminist, but they cannot counter what I know inside about the wonderful nature of ladies—actual ladies—which those two are definitively not

There are ignorant, self-loathing, power-craving whores on both sides of the gender gap. See “GOP, the.”

"some of the richest people on the planet have the lowest moral standards on the planet" Massie

You do not get to be a billionaire without doing evil yourself/enabling evil to flourish/looking the other way while evil grows.

More reasons to tax these folks to reasonable millionaire levels (throwing out the number of no more than 100 million, really what does one need that can't buy?*). The money brings misery to the world through their pursuits of power. They self profess they are not happy, we can help with that it's a problem of too much money! They become so corrupt they won't ever be getting into the heaven of their faith.

Let's be sure when we get rid of these billionaire Epstein class folks we write laws and regulations (hopefully other countries will too) that prevents anyone from ever having this level of wealth again.

*they can save up for or time share those oligarch luxury superyachts. Imagine!

I'd say exclude the primary residence and then when wealth is above the equivalent of twenty years income of full time employment at minimum wage (which is a bit more than 300K), start taxing it in 10% increments for every two years of minimum wage above that. So the first 20 years you get to keep tax free. The amount between that and 22 years gets taxed 10% 22-24 20% all the way up to 32 years min-wag-eq., anything more gets taxed 100%.

If you own 367K, you pay tax equal to 3K + 6K + 2.1K = 11.1K.

And no, debt doesn't reduce your wealth, no loopholes allowed.

The tactic of all abusers, that are being used by Trump is confusion so you don’t see the pathetic game he’s playing to be in power. Trump will never have the sustainable power he seeks, just like a heroin addict will never have the sustainable high they seek. He’s just an addict doing anything to get his fix including ordering actions that kill.

I’m confused. All this video continued to leak after members were “reminded of the rules”?

I still have a picture of me from Election Day 2016, smiling and happy that I was a part of electing the first female president. Boy was I naive. You'd think that people would want a smart, capable, no-BS person to be president....wouldn't you? But toxic masculinity.

Erika's avatar

I cried when I voted for Hillary. What a horrible day that turned out to be. I, too, was naive.

I thought we had it in the bag.

I will never again believe in the goodness of my fellow citizens.

"She never had Bill’s gift for schmooze, because nobody does..."

I remember sitting with my mom while I was visiting, and we both watched Clinton giving some speech or press conference or something. (My mom was a total news junkie. Like mother, like daughter, I guess.) Anyway, when he was done, we were both swooning and she said "I could listen to that man talk all day." Agreed.

Bill jumped out of his limo (in the rain) to shake hands with some well wishers by the road.

My mom was one of them.

She was totally excited all day, and kept talking about his baby blues.

He's a tremendous speaker.

I remember the book "The Natural" really captured his ability.

I worked a lot with them (we lived in the same NY town) and I watched her speaking powers grow.

He must have coached her.

She had many engagements locally, and by the time she was a NY Senator was quite a good speaker herself.

He gave a eulogy at my boss's funeral and I we all thought he was talking just to us. It was freaking amazing.

Wow!

That must have been amazing!

Brilliant. We're going to blow the shit out of your capital city. While we're doing that, you dodge the missiles and take over the government.

Call us when you're done, and we'll stop bombing.

This whole "operation" is going to be a total bust. Look at North Vietnam when we went to war with them. It had less population than Iran, less manufacturing capacity and a much smaller economy than Iran's yet they bogged us down for years and ultimately beat us. Also, importantly, they did not have drones. Although the contexts are different, the basic mechanics are similar. Short of pro-West Iranians taking over the government, we'll lose. You can't rule a country from the air.

Marcie, I'm so glad you included the clip of the heated exchange between Hills & Nancy Mace. I've been dying to see it since Mace threw a tizzy at the press update and said Hillary "was unhinged". Bullshit indeed.

And 2-3 SCOTUS Justices.

"M"'s avatar

Everybody always forgets about all that

Even as scholars of SCOTUS do everything including almost beg them not to

Like - it almost doesn't matter how much you change Congress for the better if you forget about what needs to be done on / with the Court

But I will stop

simpledinosaur's avatar

Yes. By cheating Obama out of a justice, and Trump's several appointments, the lunatic right has secured a generation of lunatic right SCOTUS rulings. Even if we have "free and fair" elections in 2026 and the Republicans lose massively, they'll still have control over much of the government.
