I'm kind of in awe of the animation in today's TABS, but this is the first time I've seen one that didn't say TABS in it somewhere. Am I missing seeing it, or is it not there?
Ah no, I didn't put the word in today, thinking that 'Becca *might* want to reuse that one for a non Tabs-related roundup newsletter in the future. But did you notice the Wonkette mug in the background? That was my Easter egg for today :)
I did! I did! I did taw a puddytat (mug)! And as for TABS, I'm just glad that for once it's not my eyes failing to see what's right in front of them (or hallucinating things that aren't).
Welp, now I have a new Favorite Thing Ever on the Interwebz! Thank you Martini! (I love how disdainfully she glances at them once she's knocked them down.)
'Trix, seriously? Dnyuz? An oddly named, obscure, fly-by-night "news" source didn't raise any red flags with you?
"DNyuz is an Armenian website that plagiarizes content word for word from major news sources. They literally copy and paste entire articles and embed their advertising code for profit. As one can imagine, a source like this completely lacks transparency as there is zero information to be found about authors, owners, location, or mission."
I can personally attest to the latter, any purported internal "links" to information about the site just redirect to the home page. It is as transparent as a brick. It's also noted that AdSense has blocked them due to persistent plagiarism complaints.
Which are easily verified. This particular article is in fact a New York Times article, and while I strongly support depriving them of revenue any legal way, it's probably not a great idea for Wonkette to assist plagiarists.
"Former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley on Tuesday criticized recent comments by the Republican Senate candidate in Ohio in which he openly questioned why women “over 50” are concerned about reproductive rights.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Haley claimed Moreno’s words could hurt him politically, while the GOP is counting on him to win the race as part of their plan to regain the majority in the upper chamber of Congress. “Are you trying to lose the election?” Haley said. “Asking for a friend. #Tonedeaf #DonLemonVibes”
“I’m just saying what the facts are. Google it. Everybody at home, when is a woman in her prime?” Don Lemon said in February 2023. “It says 20s, 30s and 40s. And I’m just saying Nikki Haley should be careful about saying that politicians are not in their prime, and they need to be in their prime when they serve. Because she wouldn’t be in her prime according to Google or whatever it is.”"
Shorter Nikki Haley "Ix-nay on the isogyny-may, Bernie! If you don't get into the senate how are your boys going to force everyone to live by those rules!"
She fundamentally doesn't really not believe what Moreno is saying, she just recognizes that it's "politically damaging" rather than the fundamentally dehumanizing and socipoathic rhetoric it is...

You know, I was gonna say I didn’t have WW3 starts on my calendar for today, but now I’m noticing it is actually in there, just marked ‘tentative/weather permitting’.
I saw something really clever yesterday, I think. Driving into the downtown area where I live there were two "Trump/Vance 2024" signs on either side of the road. Now, every other T/V sign I've seen has been red, white, and blue, your typical campaign signs. However these had a black background, with lettering in white and red and other line graphics in red - all very Nazi-looking.
I could be wrong, but I think these signs were counterintelligence? I don't think the local Republican party would be wrong-footed enough to put out campaign material in Nazi color schemes, though I wouldn't put anything past Rs. Or maybe the local Proud Boys are and putting signs out in fascist colors. At any rate, the signs were gone this morning when I drove back through, either some upstanding citizen removed them or (more likely) someone from the city took them out because it's on the way into the historic downtown area.
I don't love the term counterintelligence, but "spoof" seemed too lighthearted. If those were designed to subconsciously play up the fascist leanings of PAB's campaign, then they were devilishly smart!
Jeff Tiedrich asks, after a hunnert and eleventeen articles about, "OMG, OHJB so OLD!" why is "PAB so OLD" not even a thing, and it's because they gave him a pass when they telling us Biden is old and they'd look like jackasses if they turned around and noticed it now. I mean, shoe fits and all.

LOL, no, just a fictional set I made up for an animation. It's cute though, yeah?

I read a bit of the Jessica Reed Kraus article and now I am stupid.
Looks like dogs are less safe among republicans than they are among Haitians.

This is fun (excerpts from HuffPost):

I thought counterintelligent was the primary descriptor for T|V campaign signs.
I don't love the term counterintelligence, but "spoof" seemed too lighthearted. If those were designed to subconsciously play up the fascist leanings of PAB's campaign, then they were devilishly smart!
The NYT’s attempt to create a cat fight is a new low.

The Russian Parliament is right now proposing a law that will make it illegal to discuss the idea of voluntarily not having children.
The logical next step, not too far from now, will be forcing people to have children.
MAGA is clearly headed in that direction too.
"headed"???
I got to “yoga event hosted by Marianne Williamson” and my head exploded.
