This was every bit as bad a situation as we've been lead to believe. Why we can't just send some burly dude into the White House with a straight-jacket is beyond my comprehension.

It's hard to remember, but that stunt he pulled at the Oscars(?) was widely reviled at the time. Even people who agreed with him were saying that it might not have been delivered in the best way. But yes, it did take guts. I had a bit more respect for him after that. It's just any time I watch one of his "documentaries" my bogometer gets pegged. Maybe I'm just too skeptical.

Guess what? Instead of less than 400 children still separated from their parents (which is too many by any standard) there are more than 12,000 currently in detention! I suppose that's where the 10 million from FEMA went--to build better tents.

Agreed, but I don't think anything in Wolff's book has been debunked, and, given the corroboration of Omorasa and now Woodward -- as well as many other glimpses we've gotten from inside the West Wing -- I have great reason to believe Wolff's account. Plus, it reads like a Hollywood script. A really unbelievable Hollywood script featuring an absolute moron as a president. Jesus. We are so fucked.

offshore detention camps are disgusting and immoral ... but so are onshore ones where little kids are taken from their parents and locked in cages; no moral high ground in either action, arseface

Like the President is OK with sending you off to get killed in a war he invented to make it look as though he *actually* won an election? Or that the lives of brown people in other countries with lots of oil aren't really that important? Take your pick as both are correct.

Forty years ago, one of the advanced black belts walked up to me holding a training knife. "Let's train against a knife," he said. He thrust, I started to block, he hit the back of my hand, then brushed it across my throat."Crap," I thought, "I'm dead."He came at me differently, hit me and finished me."Crap.""Crap.""Crap."

Then I thought "Wait - I'm not dead. I'm training. That's just a fucking wooden knife."After that, my techniques worked as they were supposed to.
