I'm too sexy for my cells..

I could be wrong, but those cells look like they may be harboring some listeria.

Hmm, maybe, although the staining could also be any number of organelles that exist in healthy cells. It wasn’t specified in the provided description.

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

Yeah, I tried to get more description on it but failed. It was the tendency for the punctate intensities to have tails, which implies some filamentous polymer. If the filaments were part of the healthy cytoskeleton they would have some organization that is coordinated with the ongoing cell division. But other than briefly avoiding from some parts of the cell that are quite densly packed with other things like chromosomes, these little points of light and their tails don't seem to care what's going on around them at all.

I love it when you talk science to me.

“Habits stay high all the time”. At least until after the election. I’m having nightmares about ICE confiscate the ballot boxes and voting machines. What did Ukraine and Hungary do when they were having fraudulent elections? Can we appeal to the UN?

Talarico steps off Texas Senate campaign trail after flu diagnosis

As interpreted by the King of Lies:

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Ladies and Gentlemen, upon information and belief, James TalaFREAKo, who is running for the United States Senate in Texas, is MISSING IN ACTION! No one has seen him for an extended period of time. Where is he? What is wrong with him? Bad rumors are coming out. He should immediately report to a Debate Stage against Ken Paxton, who is ready, willing, and able, one of the best Attorney Generals in the Country, and will soon be, hopefully, a United States Senator representing the Great People of Texas! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

I do like how small they made the hands though. That was a nice detail.

I guess that means Facebook will no longer permit advertising for Dewar’s White Label and the tartan wearing (Don’t call it a kilt, man!) Drum Major, Bag Piper, and Drummer for the Gordon’s Highlanders. (I would paste images, but I don’t want to cost Rebecca another $30,000 in lawyer’s fees.). If you google, you may see them in attire that some might call feminine, showing their muscled legs and manly knees. Hooper, please continue to prominently display your Dewar’s advertising! I would never accuse the Gordon’s Highlanders of not being manly, Secretary Kegsbreath, even if they are not open carrying their Claymores. These are guys who charge uphill at the enemy to the sounds of bagpipes skirling, just in case the French or the Germans or the English don’t know that they are attacking. In other words, Mr Big Balls, they wear the tartans because their genitalia won’t fit into trews. I no canna document this, but just ask the next Gordon’s Highlander ye meet at a gay bar.

TerseNurse's avatar

the kilts are just for day-to-day wear. in battle, they wore full-on sequined gowns, the idea being to dazzle the enemy with their fabulosity.

I ditched FB a couple, three years ago and don't miss it.

Jen Lacks a Domesticated Bone's avatar

small businesses, like I would imagine gay bars etc, still rely upon it for word of mouth spreading.

This is some serious first amendment infringing. Whar Matt Tabbi???

Mixed feelings about The Felon's mechanical mobility assistance device. On the one hand, mocking someone for a disability is really not cool. Would you mock FDR?

On the other hand mocking the most venal, self-centered, vain asshole who regularly boasts how fit he is seems like an absolute must. He has also mocked the disabled on camera.

I suppose the difference is in the hypocrisy of Trump. He opened himself up to retaliatory comments by being an asshole.

Jen Lacks a Domesticated Bone's avatar

To be sure, we do not know what it is causing that bump. So the mocking is not for someone with a disability, but for a vain, selfish fuckwad who constantly comments on other people's looks suddenly having a gigantic ass

I think it's critically important that any of the myriad stories like the DOGE invasion of the Peace Institute must always include, at some point, the line "And then the local cops said 'sure, why not'."
