You know who's not at all responsible for Trump being able to do this? Pelosi and the Democrats. You know who bears at least some responsibility? Everyone who didn't cast a vote for Hillary, and also everyone who was attacking Hillary in 2016. That includes a lot of people nominally on the side of good.
Elections have consequences, and letting Trump in meant that we would be stuck with him until 2020. If you had a hand in that -- either by not voting for Hillary or by trying to persuade others not to -- you probably need to come to terms with that, so you don't pull the same thing next year.
The allegations do not align with common practice at our facilities ....True. They almost certainly sexually assault fewer than 50% of the kids there. They simply don't have time to get to them all.
That's what this Election Holiday business is about: they're shifting the blame onto the system to exonerate themselves, AND they're demanding the biggest, most inconvenient fix in hopes that society never meets their demands (and thus they never have to worry about voting again).

And yes, mail-in ballots are a genuinely good idea; they're not difficult to implement, there are several good models out there to study (Ohio, Oregon, and I believe Washington all do them successfully), and they neatly eliminate genuine time / physical access / voting equipment issues.
