FACT: Cops (and many others) believe that anyone ought to obey their orders, at all times, because they are COPS, and anyone who does NOT obey their orders is clearly ANTI-COP and likely a bad guy. MANY PEOPLE of every race, color, and creed, believe everyone ought to obey any police order, on a spectrum of beliefs ranging from "Cops are God's footsoldiers on Earth, incapable of doing us harm" to "Cops be crazy, do what they say or they'll just start shouting gun gun gun!" and that NOT obeying a cop is simply a direct effort to upset and emotionally disregulate that cop, not to mention an implicit admission of SOME kind of guilt.
SO when engaging in a debate on these subjects, it is IMPERATIVE we establish where each party stands, most easily done by establishing a definition for each major topic of discussion which is specific to the needs of this particular debate.
Sorry. I had some whiskey with my breakfast whiskey and TOTALLY blacked out for a minute. What were we talking about? Everybody's an idiot yo, let's laugh about it....
Do we know if Jean's apartment was directly under hers? If not, this looks even more deliberate. As they lived in the same building, I wonder if she ever interacted with him. She's the only one who could say, but even she would be smart enough not to tell anyone at this point. Oh, and another thing. . .was it initially reported that she made this "mistake" because she was drunk, but in uniform and obviously carrying her weapon. Do cops often get drunk after work while still carrying their service weapons? Are there regulations against it? So many questions. One answer pretty much covers all of it -- she killed him because he was a black man walking around in his own apartment.
Well I was in a store and there was a tall woman beside me and I took her hand and we walked out and into the elevator and then I looked up at her and she looked down at me and in shock I ran away. Then the elevator man told my mother all about it-- laughing very hard-- when she and I got in later. I'm happy to say, kindergartners didn't carry guns in those days.
How could they possibly know whether or not he was a law abiding gun owner? Is the implication that somehow he wasn't law-abiding? Dog whistle? Can someone check the registry to see if ... oh ... wait ...
Fair enough. I wasn't suggesting that you were positing this as an excuse, the police statement did. (I'd need proof of chronic sleep deprivation before I'd even consider this claim.)
The police now claim that they did test her blood the night she executed Jean.
The NRA just wants to sell more guns, even if it means someone dies needlessly. In this case, if neither Jean nor Guyger were armed, they'd both be alive right now. The twist here is that Guyger is a cop.
A black man shooting a uniformed cop should get himself fitted for an electric chair. I mean, c'mon. Also, he couldn't prove she came into the wrong apartment or that he didn't know she was a cop when he shot her.
The NRA says (with its usual f-d up logic) that if Botham Jean was a law abiding gun owner the situation would have been "very different".....yes, it would have been different. Had Botham Jean shot an intruder in his own apartment and that intruder was a police officer, the PD think tank would have crafted some sort of BS to demonise Botham and make a hero out of the officer. That's how "very different" the outcome would have been.
Not necessarily. I used to work 12 hour shifts in a hospital. Some were busy, some weren't. She may have been running miles after suspects or she may have been sitting on her ass for the shift. Either way, no reason to be that stooopid.

It's easy for home invaders to feel nervous at first, and that's what makes me feel kind of bad for them!
It's the little touches that make a difference!
You too?

Dallas police now claim that her blood was taken at the scene.
They shot pepper spray projectiles at peaceful marchers on Monday night.

and I remember how being a lawful gun owner worked out for Philano Castile

Exactly why I popped the 'legally-admissible' in there.
That was my first thought, too. That or she was practicing with her teleportation/time machine and something went horribly wrong.
