Body camera video released this week shows a Tucson police officer helping to keep the community safe from dangerous immigration-rights protesters by giving an 86-year-old woman a good hard shove, knocking her to the street where she hits her head. The miscreant, estimated to stand about 4 feet, 5 inches and to weigh less than 100 pounds, was part of a crowd of protesters who had spilled into the street near Tucson's Federal Building during a February 16 "Day Without Immigrants" rally, and officers were trying to herd the crowd out of traffic and back onto the sidewalk. What part of "law and order" doesn't this old lady understand, huh? After catching the elderly woman in a flagrant act of shaking a finger at cops and shoving her to the pavement, the officer then further protected the public from a 65-year-old woman who had reached down to help the older woman, pepper-spraying her in the face to show her who's boss.
Cops don't tend to reflect the overall enlightenment of their surroundings. I've pretty much always lived in San Francisco or New York, two quite liberal cities, and yet the cops are generally pretty terrible. In part I think it may be because cops often are not from those cities, they commute in from surrounding areas. Or else, who knows? :(
In a similar vein, could someone explain to me how a 115 pound kid is supposed to put his hands behind his back when a 175 pound cop is literally sitting on him? #BlueLivesMatter
Trump never had to worry about that since his hands were so tiny when he was told it had to be thicker then his thumb it was so thin he couldn't feel it!
That maybe, just maybe being openly gay and coming up through the ranks of an organization that is still heavily infested with unreconstructed knuckle draggers might provide him some insights to and sensitivities about how other marginalized elements of society are often treated-or mistreated-by cops.
But like I said, you have a bone to pick and you're obviously not going to let it go, so hey, break a leg.
I hadn't seen the video before I left town. I'd heard that a few of the protestors were being provocational (which is NOT a good idea) and chalked it up as a black eye for the good guys. despite the foolish approach of those trying to get a reaction out of the cops, it's NOT OK if those cops lose their cool. They are paid really well (especially in a low wage town like Tucson) and should be held to a higher standard than the protestors. Arrest them if they're out of line, but do it professionally.
Point of fact: I'm an old lady. That he did this to an elderly woman is absolutely criminal and he should be charged with aggravated assault. Then to pepper spray the face of another women who is trying to help the elderly woman after he shoves her to the ground??? Are you fucking kidding me??? "To Serve and Protect" my fucking ass.
In Atlanta ours were drinking Cokes and getting high 5's from the protesters. Only serious police presence were two snipers on the top of the state capitol building. We all gave them waves.

I saw that movie when I was younger than Harold. I found it a little freaky, but cool.

His gramma probably used to tell him to cut his own switch, so he has a natural fear of older, frail women.

She's just lucky she's not African American or there would have been blood on the street.
Those damn ELDERLIES...they need to be rounded up and sent back to the country from which they came.
EVERYONE knows that they're GENTLER, KINDER and more prone to use TICKLING as a form of punishment!

Dear pigs: When we stop publicly protesting, that's when you should be afraid.
I'm really, really tired of all the winning.
Don't blame it all on Trump, like everyone else he is a product of his environment.
