Yes, the scenario in which some people pay a little bit more for drastically better insurance coverage, is totally equivalent to the scenario where thousands of Americans, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, and a trillion dollars were needlessly lost, and the entire Middle East was destabilized (even more than it already was in the first place). Those two things are absolutely equivalent.
I'm not sure it's such an easy call between "Don't know the facts" and "Don't give a shit about the facts." Cheney was evil incarnate, but he was no dummy. As for Dumbya, who knows? I think he was capable of simply not giving a shit one way or the other.
