I just read this morning that Comcast is looking to "spin off" a number of cable channels. MSNBC is at the head of the list I suspect all the rest are just there for appearances. And it should be noted that getting rid of MSNBC while keeping NBC News makes no sense whatsoever except in terms of Trump appeasement as they are thoroughly intertwined.
I appreciate all the comments here - my blood is also boiling! May I suggest we should also think in practical terms? How to combat the crypto-fascist regime we are about to become subject to?
1. Language. Calling them "fascist" is getting a little tired. Most don't even know what the word actually means, aside from "bad". We need new, pungent terminology.
2. Direct action. Can't someone hack the White House web site and replace it with something ridiculing the orange one and the other monsters infesting the place?
3. More direct action. Jam the W.H. switchboard with infinitely many calls. Robocalls would be even better.
4. Surely Wonketteers can come up with more (and better) plans than I have.
All they have is resentment and grievance... it's what their base feeds on, and if they don't keep cranking that anger out, they may lose their audience.
I wonder how many voters realized they were giving up their right to truth, or to hear all opinions expressed so they could make up their own minds, when they voted in 2024. Maybe we'll have to rely on ships broadcasting true content from international waters, or Voice of Canada, or Air Mexico, or...
