Mole rat is not particularly attractive, although I am sure her mother thinks she's beautiful, but that wolf? Gorgeous!

Martini Glambassador's avatar

I’m weird maybe, but I think the giant mole rat is gorgeous. That fur!

Ellie still in the mix in 26's avatar

I was thinking of the face - but yes, that fur does look beautiful.

Every time someone mentions mole rats, I flash back to this classic:

Wonder what she's doing these days.

Those orange "stains" on their teeth is actually embedded iron and it makes their teeth incredibly tough.

Mary's avatar

So they are eating iron? Not sure the chemistry works out...

Teen Laqueefa's avatar

Their body produces it in the rodents teeth because they chew like crazy.

That's what I tell people when I eat a whole bag of Cheetos, "It's 𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯, dude!"

Who are these "kids" you speak of?

James's avatar

Pretty much anybody under 60. Oy. It hurts me HERE!

James's avatar

But the wild thing is my 57 yo partner did not remember that song (it came out when she was around 5, probably) so it isn't just The Kids. And weirder still it's only been a few weeks ago that we had that conversation and I found the video of it on YouTube. She just sort of sat there... stunned... not really knowing what to say.

25 years ago, I was recently graduated and looking for work, not the easiest task for a 46-year-old with a new degree. As I was sitting there, horrified, watching the news that morning, and knowing shit was about to get crazy, I decided I should do what millions of Americans had always done when the country was attacked. I'd enlist in the military.

The recruiting office was polite about it, but firm that I was to.o old, despite my insistence that I was in better shape than the majority of his recruits. Given the clusterfuck that followed, I'm grateful now that they wouldn't take me, but I wonder sometimes if that same call to service in the face of disaster would exist today. I hope so, but I fear that's something else Trump and the GOP have fucked up permanently.

freakishlystrong's avatar

Even fatter and weirder Jiminy Glick thinks it's a snub for him to not attend the memorial in NYC. In fact, I'm certain everyone their is grateful that it can go on with some dignity and not be soiled by his presence. I know I am. Let this day be for those who want to remember, and let them do it in peach.

I know the fantastical bribe statement is the thing everyone is paying attention to, but that shit was also an open sewer of hate and another attempt to foment violence.

Twenty five years ago I was in a newsroom in the English East Midlands. It was early afternoon. We always had the TVs tuned to the news channel, naturally.

Live coverage started soon after the first plane hit, then we watched the second plane.

All the journos rushed into action (I was a lowly Internet surfer) as they tried to get something published, while the net crawled to a halt.

It was a frantic few hours.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

I had a rare morning where I slept in. I woke to the hubs leaving a message the something was going on in New York and to turn on the TV. I turned it on about 15 minutes before the first tower fell. The second fell before hub's got home. His office closed because planes took off from SFO right over it. I remember EVERYTHING about that day.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

Good morning. When ISN'T Ted Cruz being a weirdo??? The fog finally came in last night and cooled us down. Cooler temps in the Bay Area coming too. I never turn on the TV on 9/11. I have zero desire to watch those buildings coming down over and over. It was enough watching it in real time.

I was curious, and there is no rabies shot officially licensed for goats in the US. Merial might want to hurry up with that Imrab trial.

Just a reminder: back in the day Wolfman Jack took to the airwaves down across the border in Mexico to let us know that we could all buy all kinds of stuff. He also played the 'rock', the 'roll' and the 'and' in the rock and roll.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfman_Jack

Our American preachers hated Wolfman Jack and his music. They swore it would destroy our nation. But the pissant who is destroying everything has a playlist with Ave Maria and YMCA on it. Go figure.

BTW- the 'border blaster' radio stations of Mexico did not fuck around. The transmitters sat in vacant fields because nothing could live near the antennae which actually glowed in the dark at night. The broadcast booths were several miles awy from the transmitter and Wolfman jack was definitely phoning it in before there was anyone talking about 'phoning it in'.

RIP Saint Wolfman Jack.
