Don't be silly. They're responsible gun owners. Nothing untoward shall ever befall their precious treasures. Kids on the other hand - Meh, they're hopeful.

So now Republicans are worried about due process and the law being abused for personal reasons? Ohio lawmakers apparently didn't blink an eye about those issues with the new transgender bill that requires an external and internal exam of female student athletes when anyone files a complaint that the girl in question might be trans. Everybody in the state pointed out that a majority of the complaints filed will be by parents of other student athletes against non-trans student athletes just because their little princess didn't win.

Uvalde may have scared them enough about the midterms to play nice in the short term. They could have easily weathered another school shooting. They've done it before. The cops' behavior is what has them shitting bricks.

I’m a teacher and this whole thing has made me so sad. I have been seeing Gen Z leftists (many of them male) discrediting gun control laws because they are worried about being victims of right wing extremists and government overreach. Maybe this is what it feels like to become ‘out of touch’ in their eyes, because all I can think about is how many children, school personnel, minorities, and women will be victimized waiting for literally any progress on gun control. Despite their expressions of support for leftist politics, not seeing a lot of advocacy from these young leftist dudes on behalf of groups they do not belong to (which are the ones most often attacked).
